So it seems "http://www.otherkinphenomena.org" is the home of the real main page now instead of "http://main.otherkinphenomena.org".

Someone probably should've put that somewhere.

I hope I don't come off as rude here... <!-- s:oops: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" alt=":oops:" title="Embarrassed" /><!-- s:oops: -->

The PayPal Donate button looks a bit off where it is on the index page. Perhaps it may look better if it were at the bottom of the page or somewhere...?

otherkinphenomena.org is the index page (the one you start with), main.otherkinphenomena.org is the main page.

the layout is now centered (i had taken the css from my own, non-centered homepage because i was lazy). the link will go to the main page when it's finished, instead of the forums, and the paypal button, voting code etc. will be there too; this is just an interim solution.

Re: So, I'm making the website!
Ok, update on me. *hacks up the other lung*
I went to the doctor last week and they said they thought I had "something viral" and gave me some meds and sent me home. I got worse and called back after a day and they said, based on my symptoms they were concerned I had meningitis and wanted to wait a little while and then have me come in for a lumbar pucture!

After a bit, my hearing started going, so I called back and asked if perhaps the symptoms could be explained by flu+ear infection, they said it was possible and sent a script into the local pharmacy for more meds to try. Those worked and I got (mostly) better over the end of the week + the weekend. Back to work now, on Monday, joy.

I really really promise, I'll get some website work done, SOON! I'm sorry again for my slowness.

No need to apologize. Take your time getting better or you might have a relapse. We can wait until you're well again to see progress on the website. Your health is far more important! Thanks for being a trooper though!

No worries. If you were ill, then it's no fault of yours. And thanks for the story. It always pleases me when the person with the problem outsmarts the expert. (Not that people having problems pleases me, of course)

Great job thus far on the intro page. Who gets credit for the lovely graphic in the center?

Re: So, I'm making the website!
Ok - new update. After being horribly sick for a short period, then getting back up to speed, I had a few issues in my life that needed dealing with and shortly thereafter I'd been struck by a horrible case of procrastination and laziness.

Sorry about that, there.

So - back to work then? The direction the chosen site graphics have taken somewhat preclude the original design I'd been thinking of, and in honesty, my original design, layout-wise, may have been a bit too complex for me. I tried to hand-code the whole thing in table-less CSS. Mistake #1 as I just don't have the breadth of knowledge for that approach it seems. Best to sticking with the methods I know, I suppose.

In any case - what do you guys want to see in terms of the website? I think I put up in this thread pages and pages back, a bit of a list of sections...so less than content - what do you want to see in terms of LAYOUT?

Sample "exemplar" websites are appreciated. Thanks to anyone venturing an opinion. <!-- sBig Grin --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- sBig Grin -->
