I can make a background image just like the one Kay showed us, but I need to know the size of the page before I can do that.

Also, the colors, they burnz us! I think something more subtle but still lighter would work better. I'm not a fan of the neon colors at all, as I think they look cheesy and annoying, but that's just me. A shade of lavender might work better than those bright swatches. Or what about a pale shade of yellow? I'm not normally a fan of yellow but it does compliment purple nicely. Or a shade of gold would be preferred.

ANYTHING but yellow or gold! I would never be able to look at the main page, it would hurt my eyes....I'm sorry, but I hate yellow or any variation thereof. ><

I think lavender would work well for the inner table....I thought that first color was lavender...hm.

Neon lavender, yes. Lavender that doesn't hurt the eyes, not so much. What about this? Now obviously the background image would need to be tweaked so that they match shades, but I like it.

You may have noticed that I'm not a big fan of blue.

How about we tweak it oh-so-slightly and make it this?

I just moved the color over towards purple. It shouldn't be neon now, and if it is, your computer and mine severely disagree with each other.

I'm actually rather partial to Elinox's colour. Mainly readability factor, and that Kayako's colour hurts my eyes a bit. I snagged a few similar colours, though, since those who have said anything seem to want something that goes with the cloudy purple background Kayako provided, and did a side by side (background and foreground) comparison.
