RE: Rixem's Journal
I'm not an expert on ghosts (tho I know someone who is, on another forum)

From what I understand:

Many ghosts have no clue they're dead. They just go thru the motions of daily routines.
This is your standard 'haunted house' ghost, usually won't survive the house demolition.
So this kind of ghost won't have any 'ghost memories' even if it does 'ghosty' things,
what it does seems like normal human things to itself.

Past-life memories are tricky things, usually need active seeking like guided hypnosis.
So it's exceedingly rare to spontaneously have past life memories.

I'm skeptical of pat life memories that come up when actively seeking them- people tend to see what they want to see & it's really easy to just imagine things or even induce false memories. Especially if your past memory is something on another planet or another world- then there's absolutly no way to confirm or deny it.

Ya, that is a thing. Everyone is Cleopatra or some such exotic / famous person.
But another world... since I believe in the Multiverse, these are not rejected out-of-hand, eh?
As you know, I don't think I'm from this thread. I think my old one is radioactive waste, and I'm not the sole survivor at all.

Yeah, even if all the Cleopatras are "The REAL Cleopatra" from different universes, it still doesn't explain why we see so many darn Cleopatras & hardly any normal average peasant non-celebrity folk from other eras.

i dont wana be a ghost, i wish i was an animal

but also i dont want a copinglink, i know some people have those & that's fine, no shame on them, but i personally would feel pretty pathetic about something like that, i disagree with playing pretend as a way to "fix" stuff

i dont want an OC or a fursona either

Have you looked into being the ghost of an animal?

(I agree with you about copinglink; that is not the same as being otherkin.)

Well sure, I think we'd all rather be something else than what we are. (Wouldn't being a dragon be cool?) But, we are what we are so we might as well accept and like it, right? It took me awhile, years in fact, to accept cat was even there because it was so overshadowed by wolf.

RE: Rixem's Journal
I haven't been happy with my profile pictures lately. I made this new one last night (4/29/2023) & originally had it with a more boo-ghost type thing, like a white cloud with a tail & 2 dark eyes. But I didn't like it much & eventually ended up with this (glowy ball).

I remember a few brief times a long time ago I thought about it & thought my ideal form would be a glowy ball like a star (said in my introduction/very first post too). I tend to feel more invisible than glowy ball but whatever.

Seeing this pic in my pfp (4/30/2023) makes me think Will-o-the-Wisp.

Which I think makes sense & fits me
* could be considered spirits of the dead OR a non human spirit more like fae
* connection to death even if they arent necessarily spirits of the dead (often seem in graveyards, legends of people dying due to following them, also called ghostlights, one scientific explanation is they're caused by decaying matter, etc)
* could be considered a type of nature spirit due to the connection with bogs & marshes
* considered mischievous, not necessarily always harmful though
* surprisingly not much known about them

There are versions of Will-o-the-Wisps/Ghost lights in nearly every folklore throughout the world. And as far as I know, there's scientific evidence that the phenomenon of Ghostlights without a doubt EXISTS, but there's no solid consensus on what they are or what causes them.

There's not much reason other than some anecdotal evidence to believe will-o-the-wisps are alive or intelligent, but something doesn't necessarily have to be alive or intelligent to be a kintype/

RE: Rixem's Journal
I wish I had an animal kintype.

But also I wouldn't want to have an animal body or live as an animal- living in the wild with no modern technology is dangerous and stressful & lack of hands would make it worse & so would lack of reasoning skills or ability to use tools or to ask for help.

I think maybe it's less "I should be an animal" and more "I think humans should have fur & movable ears & a tail".

But if I had to pick an animal I might pick racoon. Because they still kind of have hands, which is useful. Or a kangaroo because they have built-in pockets. Or an octopus because they're smart & can hold 8 things at once.
