I will say this, though. A lot of the features I see here on your forum are 'missing' or 'hidden' on mine, probably due to that style. That is, perhaps, why they say to stay away from phpbb2 styles.

And yeah, you'll want a good backup and do it on off-hours, because there's no way to tell which templates will or won't work with phpbb3 till you try.

I set up a development copy of phpbb3 on my workstation to try and help figure this out. o__o

In the ACP, under the Board Features section of the general tab, the option 'Display custom profile fields on topic pages' is saved as yes?

And the custom fields were added from the Users and Groups tab?

i only looked where you setup the fields, not somewhere else. instead, i searched those damn phpbb3 support forums for a good while...
