So, I'm making the website!

It's like to see a list of buttons linking to various things on the left-hand side of the inner table. Think our rank badges- a nice, clean button with different things printed on like "forum", "home", "articles", and "FAQ". We'll work on the content pages after the design is done. Maybe we could have some talented artist here make the buttons?

For the rest of the inner table (that's the green part, by the way), I'd like to see a welcome speech of some sort written in the remaining portion. I think we'll have to agree on what that'll say.

Up where you have "dfhgfj", how about you put our little slogan?

Also, I still don't like the page background. I think it should be a darker green to match.

EDIT: Hey, if you're willing, we can keep the page design, but change the backgrounds of the inner and outer table. It can do alot, you know. I honestly like how the page is set up, but I don't like this green/blue thing. I think it should be done in blue or purple, with the inner table being lighter-colored than the page background. Let me pull up some background images!

I like the last image Kay, but all the others seem too busy for a background image for my tastes (save for the third last purple cloud image, that one's ok too). So if Xan uses the last image (dark purple with black) the purple buttons that Feral made should match, right? Perhaps she could alter them to say things like "articles", "links", etc. And I also like the idea of buttons on the left side that will direct people to other pages with information on them. Along with Taiaka's image on the main page, either a welcome note or a disclaimer that we come up with would be good too. Or even our mission statement.

I'm thinking the same thing about the inner table images. What I will probably do is do what I had meant to do before and keep the site as imple as possible till it's finished - then we can do the diplomatic thing and have another image contest. <!-- s --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s -->

Simple as possible is good, I think, even for the final version. Never underestimate the power of simplicity. I dunno about everyone else, but doing busy, artsy backgrounds makes it seem like a hobbyist's site, rather than a respectable source of information.

i agree with palmer. the purple/black is good for the background, but where the text is, i would prefer a solid color. also keep in mind that we don't want to look all dark and gothy.

Right, while the "no dark & gothy" thing is still in effect, we did pick a logo that's fairly dark. So would "dark, but no gothy" be acceptable?

Aye, I'd say dark but no-gothy is perfectly acceptable.
