I sit now on the bank, far off, of the river we knew. we fished, and traded, and hunted along it's banks. I'm far off on the mound we knew, and see the spirit of the land, before they came. The french traders. They thought we were foxes, as the words were the same. We were of the Iowa nation, an we lived here forever. Until they came, and we foght them. They wanted our way, our very life blood. So we, olf the red earth, made their blood flow. We took no glee in this. unlike them we saw the evil. But their greed knew no end, and their weapons defeated us. They set our traditional enemies against us, with their cursed weapons, to our destruction. we lost and were scattered. Who knows of us now? This man, so small of our blood, still knows he's Iowa, tho he knows it matters not, who knows us now?
... Two beings together in unity in one human body.
