New Slogan
Because my hubby has a knack for the overdramatic:

Example:
Quote:“Underneath the myst of falsehood lies the truth we seek.”

And since several of you have pointed out just how dorky this sounds, along with how much others agree, I’m going to throw together a little poll with some replacement phrases that could possibly be more fitting up there.

If you have a suggestion you’d like to add feel free to pm me and I’ll se about sticking it in (though I can’t have more then 10 going). This is set to run for about 20 days and you can change your vote.

Bottem note: The first two are in Latin (give us a classier feel)

I personally love the last one, which gives me a sense of family and warmth.

Re: New Slogan
I, myself, really like the first one. Very rarely do people take the time to discuss things. Something will always be taken as truth without questioning it and I rather like that it says: "with Discussion comes truth" or something very close to those lines. One has to search for truth. It's rarely handed to us.

Re: New Slogan
I got one: Abandon Hope All Ye That Enter Here.

I'm just kidding of course....I actually voted for the last one...only 'cause Latin is a dead language and I'd find it ironic that a forum for the evolution of knowledge would use Latin. heh

Re: New Slogan
I chose the last because it's what I've found to be true. Although it might be possible to word it more eloquently.

(EDIT: Ach, I had a dyslexic moment last night. Last one, not the first)

Re: New Slogan
Being literal minded, I like the one involving dissolving myths. That's essentially what we are and do, most of us anyway.

Re: New Slogan
Or you could go *chan style and stick with the Latin theme, saying "Veni! (I came!)"

Oh how I love Caesar.

Anyway, you're on the right track with these, but please please please please please whatever you choose, spell it correctly.

Re: New Slogan
Honestly, I'm not very fond of any of them. Could we go for something simpler, more elegant? Fewer syllables?

"Seeking truth."
"Dissolving myths, finding answers."

The shorter it is, the better.

Re: New Slogan
(IMO) You don’t get much more simple and elegant then a Latin phrase. Keep in mind, the translation won’t be up there with it, just what’s in the quotes.

Also, if you’d like me top add one or both of your suggestions I could, there’s still time before this is over, and switching one’s vote is an option.
