XD Okay, a bit more even.
And as there should be a noticeable difference between those topics with new posts and those with none (aside from the colour), what symbol would fit along with the septagram? Or would just a more drastic colour difference work (like new posts have a light version of the septagram, and non-new ones have a dark grey or something)? Seeing as how this idea was originally brought up for this issue:

I say the non-new button should have a different symbol AND a bland color, but not gray exactly. I was thinking pale blue.

How about...um.....a squiggle for the second symbol?

Re: Forum/Post icons.
By my count, to cover all bases, 20 (not necessarily different) icons will be needed.

Re: Forum/Post icons.
ANYway... c.c Back to topic before you two derail it majorly;

I've nabbed Rauthiss' list of icons he posted earlier, and it's help if others could come up with ideas for the different icons. This is what we've got so far:

Not read- Septagram [Image: newtopic_septagram3.gif]
Read- [Image: notopic_icon.gif]
Popular, unread- pulsing septagram [Image: newtopic_septagram_pop.gif]
Popular, read- [Image: notopic_icon_pop.gif]
Announcement, read- [Image: notopic_icon_ann.gif]
Announcement, unread- [Image: newtopic_septagram_ann.gif]
Sticky, Read- [Image: sticky_septagram_read.gif]
Sticky, unread- [Image: newsticky_septagram.gif]
Locked, read- [Image: notopic_icon_locked.gif]
Locked, unread- [Image: newtopic_septagram_locked.gif]
"replied to by self"- unread: [Image: newtopic_septagram_replied.gif]
Replied, unread, popular- [Image: newtopic_septagram_pop_repl.gif]
Replied, read- [Image: notopic_icon_replied.gif]
Repied, read, popular- [Image: notopic_icon_replied_pop.gif]

I can edit this post as we get ideas, so we know what's going on.

Re: Forum/Post icons.
We could just, say, like, see what other kind of styles we come up with for choosing.
That's on my agenda, buddy. Hardcore STYLES.

Re: Forum/Post icons.
Nice job catching the derail, Sala.

Perhaps announcement could have an exclamation point superimposed upon the septagram, and sticky could be a rotating one?

Re: Forum/Post icons.
Not read- Septagram
Read- a book
Popular, unread- pulsing septagram (this'll be easily animated, I think. Hopefully.)
Popular, read- an open book
Announcement, read- a megaphone
Announcement, unread- megaphone with a line through it like the "no smoking" sign
Sticky, Read- sitcky note
Sticky, unread- sticky note with a line through it like the "no smoking" sign
Locked, read- a lock and key
Locked, unread- a lock and key with a line through it like the "no smoking" sign
"replied to by self"- Asterisk in the corner, like normal.

My suggestions are in blue. If you want more creative stuff, give me some more time.
