the exclamation mark looks like the sign for an announcement. if everyone likes the second symbol though, i'll use it. (and perhaps the exclamation mark for new announcements?)

I'm sorry, and maybe it's my screen, but I can't really tell what the second one is supposed to be.

Not sure if it sends the right message, that's a little therian/were biased, imho. Not that I don't like it! It looks great.

If photoshop can make images that can be converted for this purpose (has no idea how that all works) then I'm up for taking designs and then having a poll over which ones to use.
