We could also do what the Werelist does and have a livejournal group and Yahoo group that provides updates for members.

I can create a Yahoo group in about 2 minutes, so no it's not hard. The trick is getting people to join and then make sure they are signed up for email notifications. That way, we the team could send out an email notice if the forum goes down, any updates, etc. Of course, posting on the main site works too, I just love Yahoo's groups. The downside is that you have to have a Yahoo account to become a member. I think the same is true of livejournal, you have to have an account to gain access. Just an idea that I've seen worked well for the Werelist.

it might be, i couldn't accese the main page for a majority of the time the board was down, i saw archer on another forum and message her about not being able to get here.

i don't think all our members would like to sign up there too... if only i could figure out how to write an email to all members that are not banned...
