Agreed. Perhaps options A and C could be something for the future? And again I agree, option B would be the best and easiest!
For ease, just make them blue. Personally, I still would prefer if they weren't there at all. I think if they were blue, they would still stick out like a sore thumb.
Momo and I chose the user rank images because they matched the logo, and because purple is a very neutral color that can match many skins without having to fiddle around too much. Blue and purple are also very similar colors, so I can't say I understand how they could "clash". If they were something like red, pink, or yellow, I'd understand, but this seems silly.

Also, I don't see the point of causing so much trouble over something so trivial. The graphics are small and in no way displace the page or disrupt anything. The buttons are part of the forum layout as decided by the maintainers, and the images are those of a member who won in our contest. Now, I could understand if the buttons were larger, or if they had some color issue that hurt your eyes or effected your forum experience. As it stands, though, none of those circumstances apply. I don't mean to be rude, but it is very unrealistic to make such changes for two users just because they do not find the new changes "pretty".

However, if we MUST cater to everyone's little whims, I suppose making the forum layout purple instead of blue would be livable and wouldn't be disrespectful to the graphic designers.

I was asked for my opinion, so I gave it so it's not like I was complaining out of the blue. I also said this was simply my opinion and no one is required to do anything about it or agree with me. *shrug* I was asked and I responded with honesty, that's all.

And it's not that purple doesn't match with blue, they usually compliment each other nicely. However this particular shade of purple clashes with the more subtle shades of blue. Perhaps this was just something my artistic eyes noticed, but it grabs my attention and doesn't seem to match the rest of the forum color scheme. Again, this was simply my opinion and no one is required to change anything. I was just giving my opinion, not asking people to change their own.
If I may throw in a few pennies, I actually think that it's a little...redundant to have both the text and the picture for the ranks. And of the two, I'd rather have the text. I'd rather think of, for example, Elinox as a creative wolf(ie) than just as a moderator.
I really didn't mean to start a big issue with this. I thought that there would be an easy way to resolve turning off certain graphics (who would have thought FF would truncate the link?) or certain aspects of the board (seemed to make sense in my web development mind LOL). I haven't used these types of boards so I am not aware of its limitations.
I believe I agree with Deros. *shrugs* But it is just a thing.

Don't worry about it. This is a community so everyone is allowed to have (and share) their say along with their opinions. No worries!
