i worked a little more on the article site. you can now sort articles by title, author, date, and category, and you can display only one category. (you cannot choose a category and then sort the results - should i add that feature?)
also, links are now slightly blue-ish so you can recognize them as such. i also made the hover effect blue instead of red.
I kinda like the random quote idea. It would be even more personal to if we used the ones from the OKP Quotes thread. Would we have to worry about permissions from that, though?
Otherwise, what other types of quotes would we have pop up and how does categorizing them work?
we wouldn't categorize... there would just be one field for them somewhere, and one quote is randomly chosen.

I found some main page quirks:
The “Quote of the moment” feature overlaps and blocks content when viewing the Articles and Affiliates
As does the “Website programmed by Kahoku” statement
uhm... which browser are you using? does pressing f5 help? if not, could you make a screenshot for me please?
I’m at my work computer and using internet explorer and incapable of screenshots.
When I get out tonight I’ll check on my laptop (which has fire fox) a take the screenshots there if I still see there's a problem.
it looks good on both my computers, on firefox... i have no internet exploiter.
