So as not to clutter this thread, I have a thread on the reliability of the biblical text. in it is a link which addresses many of the "contradictions." it's in the religion section...here..as it were. I'll just say this, and discuss it there if you like, the gospel accounts don't actually contradict, nor do they contradict any historical record.

Moving on.

It's not really true that the bible says nothing about said relationships. read Romans chapter 1.

Why did God harden Pharoah's heart? I'm not sure, but here's some discussion.

However, no matter why, one example does not a "law" make. Meaning, eve if God took free will from one person, it doesn't mean that the standard. I will report to you that he has taken mine once in my life. It's what is called 'conviction of the Holy Spirit" and i bet you've heard the term given your back ground.

judges: yep, YHVH can be tough on nations, though not everything in that account was actually ordered by God. it's common to see the misconception where, if the bible says it, then god must condone it or have ordered it. no, that's not the case. The account is telling us that the people handed over to be taken in military action had become very corrupt. it wasn't just about one rape.

Regret, repent. The hebrew word is nacham. It's not saying God regretted, it is an expression of negative emotion attributed to YHVH due to the events transpiring.

So now too the main point of the topic. My advice is to embark on some greater study of this text. it seems important to you in some way and from what I have seen in your OP, i think you may have come across a few sources of flawed information.
thetruthbetween Wrote:I feel more of a connection to a set of goddesses that randomly came to me one day. By that, I mean they just sort of... popped into my head. I don't heard them of anything, they're not walk-ins, I just have this knowledge of them that I can't explain. (...)

I suppose, what I'm wondering, is... could these goddesses I connect to so strongly, despite my best efforts, be real?

Sure, or at least real spirit contacts if not "deities" as such. Or perhaps they are in fact some of the natural deities of this world, expressing themselves to you in very personalized ways with these names that are not known to the lore. UPG - Unverified (that is, no historical reference) Personal Gnosis - is a valid spiritual experience. In fact a lot of what we think about ourselves as otherkin is essentially UPG. (If someone else should independently Get the same information you do, it becomes Shared Personal Gnosis.)
