Ever since someone gifted me a... what do you call a drawing of runes anyway? Anywho, ever since that was gifted to me (partially as that person prodding me to learn more about runes), I've been intrigued about how those who really have an in-depth knowledge of futhark runes assemble them into interesting patterns that have meaning. I still suck at figuring out the meanings of anything but at least I find it interesting now so maybe that individual was successful at getting me interested in studying runes to an extent.

The futhark is rather archetypal in it's meanings and as such it's fairly easy to organize things into something complex. I got a good link to a site that has some of the nicest information on the runes available on the internet if you're interested.
A drawing of the runes is called... a drawing of the runes. If you combine runes to create a seal or a spell then you've got a Rúnstafr or runestave.
