hello
Hello, you can call me Harlock, I am a angel that....well to explain it easy I am on good terms with heaven but not in his grace. If that makes sense, I have studied magick for a good few years, and I went threw my full awakening process almost a year ago. I am also looking to write an article on the history of the term otherkin, what are the various ones out there, and the description of all of them. Since there does not seem to be a unified concensus or even a article detailing any information in great length on Otherkin. So if you wish to help me with this wide project and share your insight please PM me.

Welcome First off, how did you come to the conclusion that you're a celestial? Second, there is no real subculture-wide consesus on what otherkin are/is let alone specifics of varying types. The only things people can really agree on are sweeping generalizations, which is why a few wiki's exist in addition to sites with article collections (such as this one), but you won't find a consensus on anything anywhere really. So good luck

Re: hello
welcome to okp!

i have, in fact, seen such an article: click

the problem is, you cannot capture all the aspects of otherkin into one article, it would fill a book. that is why there are only general articles and then in-depth articles about all the different aspects and kin types.

hope that helps.

Re: hello
sry for the late reply and I am going to try to lump all questions together, first off thank you for the nice welcome, secondly as for why I am angel i always kinda "guessed" until my awakening, after that I KNEW, (i wont go into exactly my awakening...sry its not a discussion i like talking about do to the situation around it) along with some memories of the time, (though scattered bits and pieces) ignoring the stereotypical wing answer (because that gets repetitive and doesnt mean your angelic) among a few other bits of info thats really it. i hope this helps if you need me to be more descriptive ill try

and yes i know theres alot of speculation and disagreements but there has to be a general consensus of what is what or otherwise forums like this can not exist because everyone would be bickering

oh and thanks this article really helps

please browse all the sections of this forum. in each of them, there's at least one thread about "what is the definition of x?"

Re: hello
You beat me to it Terro =p

I was also going to say that there has been alot of decent articles out there on all the different forms of otherkin, therian and vampire and there has even been a book about it. While none of us will fully agree on all of our beliefs we do tend to have a very general consesnus of what makes the community go round harmoniously and it seems to work for the most part.

I'm also interested in the formation of the sub-culutre of otherkin and therianthropy, so If you ever want to have a discussion or compare notes on PM then be my guest. ^_~

Welcome.

Re: hello
Blessaður
Problem with such a project is that if you want to do it "properly" and present all the accepted theories on the concept, you would be writing a full encyclopedia's worth of text, and the moment you would be done, you'd have to go over the whole thing and add in all the new theories and edit out the discontinued ones, and then do that again and again. And even if you'd end up with something up to date and accepted and release it. One year later, there'd be new theories and new kintypes and so on.
Not to mention if you want to adress the history of the phenomenon before the invention of the term "otherkin".
