comic artists?
Anyone here a competent artist in American comic book style?

I kind of have my eye on a commission, and while I could throw some money at comic book artists I kind of want to keep it in the family. For an idea of which artists/art styles I like, try:

Mike Mayhew (I think), who drew the King of Spain Magneto:

Chris Bachelo, back when he made sense:

Gary Frank:

(That last link probably needs copy-pasted into a browser window to work)

John Cassaday:

Patrick Zircher:

Like I say I'll go to comic artists if I have to, but would rather "keep it in the family".

Re: comic artists?
I got straight up mad skillz at the old comic book genre but I use digital color (think Defiance or new school X-men [but not as roughly hewn]). I'm a bit of a heavy inker (as I should be) but I am not a monochrome-nazi in anyway. I'd be happy to draw up something for ya, Arch. I also know a guy who used to draw for the comic TMNT (Turtles! ) who owes me a favor. He's a wiz at colors and we used to do graphics together in Jersey. Its up to you

Re: comic artists?
Got any links to your work?

As far as I know almost all colour is digital nowadays anyway.

Re: comic artists?
Having a great love for (good) American comics and all, I want to volunteer myself out but know you’d end up wanting to strangle me by deadlines, let alone a general time frame. Especially since I have been known to put off projects for years and never like being completely finished cause there’s always something that need tweaking (probably why my web comic with a friend never ended up happening).

Also, which art style from the above links do you prefer? From what I can combine you want something less cartoonie (and there guess my hat anyway since that’s my specialty when illustrating for comics), but that’s about it since a lot of those were vastly different all around.

Good luck in your search and out of curiosity, what would this artist need to be drawing and can we get a basic premise on what the literary portion would be like?

But I pay in cool hard cash and find that speeds things up

Gary Frank by far, then Parick Zircher.

Couple of Marel-esque characters floating around my head, and or some of the Mageto clan. Pin up style, not sequetional. Literary portion would be zero.
