Works of an Angelic
All the works below were written in 10th grade by Sarah:

Ode to the Moon
Her
Seductive light
Slips into your
Heart,
Like a stranger
In the
Night.
She is
A
Savage beast,
Thrusting horror
Into
You
Like a
Rapier.
You fear
Her
But love her
For the
Peace
And
Stillness that
Follows her
Steady pace.
The day
Trembles
And bows
To the
Moon.

Starry, Starry Night (based off of the painting)

The dark draws close
Bringing demon shadows.
A lone figure rises above the town,
Searching for a bloody rose
With silver thorns.

The night spreads,
Flaming flowers glowing.
The violet haze covers the sleepy village,
Searching for a bloody rose
With silver thorns.

The lone figure sways,
Entranced by the moon,
As it continues
Searching for the bloody rose
With silver thorns.

Snow White, The Tale of Terror (based off of the movie)

Heart as black
As pitch,
Eyes as cold
As ice.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

She was young,
Innocence gleamed in her eyes of blue.
You greeted her with smile
And cinnamon colored pup.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Her coal black hair,
Ruby red lips,
And graceful demeanor
Threatened you.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

You sent your man
To kill her.
But he came back to you
With a pig’s heart.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea

She ran to a rogue
With dark eyes.
A protector,
A would-be lover.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

The seven rogues
Thwarted your plan,
But you did not give up.
Poison was your chosen one.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Her betrothed
And the rogues
Cried as they lowered
Her casket.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Her eyes opened
When the first
Thud of dirt
Fell upon her crystal casket.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Her protector
Leapt into the grave,
Flung open the casket,
And awakened her with a kiss.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Again,
Your plan was thwarted.
You and your devil babe
Plotted anew.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

Little did you know,
That they came for you
That dark night.
You waited and you plotted.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

The prince you killed,
She laughed at you
And slammed the candelabra
Into your precious mirror.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

You screamed
As she and her lover
Took her father. Now you
And your devil babe are with me.
Horror surrounds thee,
My dark lily of the sea.

The Graveyard

Life is like a
Graveyard.
The clouds hover over,
Destroying
The life giving light.

The chill wind howls
Through
The dark tombs of
Death,
Beckoning to you.

You carefully avoid
Stepping
Upon the graves,
Fearing
The darkness.

You slip upon
The wet grass
And fall
Into an open
Grave.

All too soon
You hear
The
Howling wind
From below,
Encased in
Darkness.

Fear

The night clad man’s
Footsteps echo
Along the alley floor
As the shadows swirl
Trying to hide this pallid man.

He reaches out to you
With his black robed arms,
Beckoning to you
As the shadows swirl,
Trying to hide this pallid man.

“Hush,” he whispers,
Pulling you close within the dark alley.
You forever fall
As the shadows swirl,
Trying to hide this pallid man.

Inner Poet

Where the night meets day
Where the dark meets light,
You will find her.
When the sky touches the land,
You will find her.

Within the truth of lies,
Within the lies of truths,
You will hear her.

She exists to breathe the salty air,
To sing the song of birds
And to know love that will rival the gods’.

The heart of the Earth beating softly,
It’s breath making the wind
Is what she is.

Re: Works of a Multiple
In one sense this is so very dark. But it's not depressing. It's so full of feeling and one of the poems touched me on a very personal level. Thank you for sharing. My heart's beating faster after reading some of this.

Thank you so much for the compliment =)

It really does brighten my day. Would you mind telling me which poem it was? It's fine if you don't, I'm just curious.

Re: Works of a Multiple
It's not the moon that "thrusts a rapier" into my heart, but rather the darkness that shows up without her. I like the first poem, but disagree with it XD Moon is my friend, shining gentle light upon all of me, flaws included.

Now the sun, on the other hand, is such a pain in the ass that I welcome winter.

And the fear poem struck a chord. Rape is one of my biggest personal fears, and I avoid alleyways at all costs. So that was a scary poem.

I can't remember what I was thinking while I was writing 'Fear", lol...but alleyways give me issues, too.

I love the moon, but people often fear her.
