Tysha's Greeting
Hello all. I'm not that good at writing introductions, so please forgive any muddled thoughts.

I count myself as draconic otherkin, although the species I remember being consider themselves daekar. Visually they look like western dragons (4 legs, 2 wings, long tail). I originally considered myself to be a walk-in (once I had learned the terminology associated with otherkin) as the dragon of me joined with the human of me in 1991, but after living as 2 selves in 1 body for 13 years, in 2004 we became the one self I am now. At least that's the very, very short version.

I'm more of a reader than a poster, I've mastered the art of forum lurking But I do see some familiar names here.

I'm not sure to be honest, which one is OH? I'm not very good at remembering which acronym goes with which forum.

Welcome to OKP!

How did you discover that you were a daekar? And how is that different than a typical western-style dragon?

I don't think so, its not ringing any bells with me.

Seraphyna Wrote:Welcome So how did you come to the conclusion that you're dragon-kin?
I was lucky enough to not completely lose my dragon memories on the journey between home and here, which was a risk when I agreed to come here. I feel bad sometimes for remembering so much when some people I encounter are so desperate for just a little glimpse of their former lives. I did lose my human memories from before the age of 11 for a long time, the worst side effect of that being I didn't know my father. Since my two selves merged I have clearer human memories but I still have some strong memories of growing up in Illsyndra.

Elinox Wrote:How did you discover that you were a daekar? And how is that different than a typical western-style dragon?
From my memories as above. I tend to use daekar as identifing myself as being from Illsyndra, my former home, but given not many people know of it, using daekar now seems to be an unneeded distinction. I've just felt more comfortable using daekar over dragon, although I'm now worrying that makes me sound a little elitist or pompous. I worry a lot, its become a very bad habit of mine, and I keep questioning myself far too much.

@Lishie, I believe Salaiek has already answered that one

@Salaiek Better late than never

Edit: typos.
