Transmigration
This topic should be about "willing" transmigration of soul, and not about reincarnation. I couldn't find anything on this topic anywhere I looked, and my magical library is not so small, plus I have internet on my side . Well in the end I found one mention of willing transmigration while incarnated in books by/about Lobsang Rampa (you can find something here), but unfortunately I would like to find out much more so I'm forced to ask publicly.

To describe it simply I'm asking about unbinding all your connections to your current body and switching to new one. (Walk-in process from incarnation, and not from astral)

So some of my questions: Is it possible to unbind body and soul, and not just end up in astral, and stay there? Is it possible to perform transmigration even without previous agreement with soul currently in target body? What is the impact of transmigration to your former, and current body? Is it possible to take your memories from former body to your next one without forgetting them, or partially forgetting them? (+ How to all questions starting "is it possible" )

Re: Transmigration
Well, I might be of some interest in that "I" am composed of Say, the original inhabitant of this body, and a pseudo walk-in.

Two things are of note in my case - first of all, neither of us is complete; there are some small bits missing from me, and some huuuuge bits missing from him. Second of all he didn't join me deliberately or consciously - he was put here.

Judging by the large number of walk-ins of various kinds, I would say joining a new body, even one that is already inhabited, is not that big of a deal. It's not the norm but it happens fairly frequently.

On the other hand, I am yet to knowingly meet anyone who recalls consciously "walking out" of their old body. There are a good few people who report an inhabitant of their body leaving - but without that inhabitant to give testimony it's pretty much impossible to say what happened to them.

If I ever hear from my former headmates again, I'll be sure to ask and get back to you.

Re: Transmigration
Mmm... I've personally had no citable experience with it, but I have the innate "knowledge" that such a thing is completely possible... it just takes quite a bit of work. The major factors are certain qualities of the target (how they will react), the connection between you and the target (to find their body without incident), and to a large extent if you have consent or not (makes things a lot easier or harder, depending)...

Separating from your body *before* you have a target is not only extremely difficult to pull off correctly, but is also dangerous, even if you should find one, since you don't really know how it'll react.

But all of the above is not verifiable except by my own word. Take with a bucket of salt.

Re: Transmigration
Varkadevi isn't the only one barking up this tree apparently.... adds that it would likely occur via etherically seperating from a host(OBE/NDE -type separation) and destroying the link to the host body. The first part has many source materials on how to accomplish it. And scratch for the latter.. although Varkadevi is working on it, at present. As for acquiring a new vessel, that's rather tricky as well.. the options would be to find a vacant body(previous inhabitant is gone or non-existent, or to form a multiple-system with a sentient being, or make a trade, or steal one..which many would have objection to it seems..and would likely be difficult in most cases.
