Tiny snippets
I've been getting tiny details from past lives lately, and I was wondering: For those of you who get random memories of a sound or a landmark or something like that, do you just let it be, try to make sense of it, write it down or otherwise record it just to have it? I'm the type to try to piece things together, but I think I've had several important past lives that I get memories from... It's hard to know what is what...

Re: Tiny snippets
We record everything. Memory gets warped easily enough; making as accurate a record as possible, as soon as possible helps to minimize the decay. From a scientific perspective, we know we shouldn't analyze it or we'll end up with confirmation bias toward the ideas in our speculations, but we have a hard time not trying to analyze it and put pieces together.

We keep records. There's currently been some intense memories and phantom-ears from a past life Blake and I had (as a single being) when we weren't human, and it threw us both into the whole "OMG are we actually ... y'know ... otherkin?". Right now we're leaving the whole thing be as we have more important issues on our plate - so currently we're not diving into research or meditation - but if more memories arrive we will record them with the others.

Our phantom ears are fun to wiggle and all, but passing our A-level exams will get us into university, and later on a career. <!-- sTongue --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- sTongue -->

I digress. When we get something new of that nature we record everything - either in a LiveJournal, handwritten journal, anything in writing - you know, like some people do with dreams. After a while if we're getting a collection of memories from what seems to be the same life, we try and see if it fits together at least. Like I said, right now we're putting any research on it on hold, but we see if it makes at least a little sense.

Re: Tiny snippets
Write "EVERYTHING" down.
Otherwise the whole "warp it to fit together" becomes far too easy.

Re: Tiny snippets
We write everything down--and then we write a story, lol.

Gabriel's memories are so damn weird that we write it down just to make sure we understood it.

Re: Tiny snippets
I usual draw it. Since most of my memories are flashes of images without too many thoughts and concepts accompanying them. Sometimes I'll write the description also, but I haven't done that in years. Overtime i more just experience my being otherkin rather then make seance of what my past life was like all the time.
