The Angel of the North
I just think this is really very cool, and seeing it face-to-face for the first time in March or so it stayed cool:

Wider than the Statue of Liberty is tall. So cool.

It's just past whatever motorway you take to go north from Sheffield to Newcastle, and looks even bigger and more impressive when you see it in the flesh. Like "Screw you, I'm a huge-ass angel."

I echo the notion of it being very impressive. Would love to get the opportunity to see it up close.

If you want to know badly enough to use two exclamation marks, why not just Google?

kinda looks like a plane to me, and the size of the wings seems structurally unsound.

Cool, innit? It kinda looks like the wings should just snap off, and yet they've stood there for ten years, as far as I know without need for maintenance.

Re: The Angel of the North
I can totally answer a simple question, but asking it of Google and then reading the immediate results will get it answered for your far, far, far faster than asking here and hoping someone responds at some point. I'm not going to waste a control-c enabling that kind of laziness.
