Taking Back The Bedroom
Greeting, all, I've returned from all manner of "stuff" and have come back with many revelations of a personal nature. Chief among these was the realization that one of the groups(Spirits) that have been around me for quite some time are in fact enemies. Very insidious enemies in fact, and at this point in time.. there are alot of of them in my room than there are of me(or any potential allies if they haven't been completely forced away). The humanoid species I spoke of which has made great efforts to now to rally me to their side..while simultaneously mucking my brain up something fierce.

This being the case I lack the strength to personally force them out by sheer force of will..I'm weaponless at the moment and I require some sort of method to force them out of here. Sigils, scents, rituals, substances I could spread(Smudging?). Being that they seem to be light-oriented I hope to use that against them. I need to make this place utterly inhospitable to them, like lining the room with kryptonite or something to that effect. Additionally, some sort of "Personal Defense" (Particular symbols, etc.) would help greatly if it exists. I'm not concerned with "extremism" at this point, any possible direction would be *Greatly* Appreciated.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
- incense: sage.
- symbol: algiz [Image: 14px-%20-%20Runic_letter_algiz.svg.png]
- a sigil with a statement of intent like "it is my will to drive out the enemy spirits".
- all kinds of shielding techniques, or circles (can be drawn with holy water, salt (water), or whatever you feel is right), or both
- create a servitor (link 1, link 2) to do the job for you.

that's all i can think of right now, hope it helps!

I have an Ægishjálmur in my bedroom.
They're good for diverting all evil intent back at the sender.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
My Thanks to both of you for your prompt responses, I'll see what I can do with this.

About using the Runes, should they be painted directly to a surface, or is a drawing effective? Must they be written with any ritual or special substance/inks?

Thank You.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
most people don't like it when i say "do whatever feels right for you"... :/

it really depends on your background and tradition.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
Traditionally, runes are drawn on a solid surface in blood.
More modernly, they're drawn on any surface that'll keep the image using the colour red to symbolize blood, "or" drawn in black but adding a drop of blood to it as a part of tying the rune to yourself and sealing in your intent.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
Kahoku: I invented my own religion, I don't have any sort of backround therefore..and kin-wise the only cultures that may have had "compatible" are mostly all rocks and gibberish at this point. I'm looking into the Runes right now but given that these spirits probably have better knowledge of them than I do.. unless you know a source for non-theistic Alien magic that I haven't seen? Tongue

Miniar: While I try to find a safe-ish way of bloodletting, I wonder if charging a pendant/sigil of the Ægishjálmur would also be somewhat effective? Granted, I'll have to find one online somewhere first. Also, since I might not be conventionally "attached" to this body I have to wonder what affect that this might have on me) The other question being as I mentioned above, do you think there are any ways for a more experienced Runecaster to circumvent this? (Just covering all my bases since these spirits are/portray themselves to be angelics/servants ergo..yeah)

They key is intent. Blood's just a powerful gesture of intent.

Re: Taking Back The Bedroom
For something less squiggly, I'd also suggest carrying some black obsidian with you. It has very strongly protective energies.

You might not want to try it if the problematic entities are shadowy, though. If they are shadowy, lovebombing can be effective.

In other words, in a normal battle of wills, the nasty beats at you and you try to protect yourself, or you try to fight back. The stronger wins, and your situation doesn't seem like that would be you. With a little lovebomb though, when the nasty entity is all "ARGH I KILL YOU!!!" (translated to English from the energetic feeling, of course) a response of "I love you! You're so pretty! Stay still while I give you a big wet kiss!! " can get the bad guys to go "Huh? Wtf? I don't like this dude and I'm leaving!"

All very general advice of course, and I make no suggestion that it would work for every situation.

Edit to add: if they're brighty lighty bad guy types, the symbolic power of India ink can't be overstated. It's verrrrry black and it blackens anything it touches.

Hmmmm. While I myself have general "always on" shielding and stuff, it seems like you might need something more unusual to bolster your more straightforward defences; asymmetric warfare, spiritual style. For me that would involve needing to know a bit about the enemy's core nature and how I personally interpreted their symbols. Happy to share specific ideas in this thread or PM if required.
