Suppressing the Other
Speaking from some experience, I'd recommend doing whatever it is that brings out the wolf in you. Make that part of you come out, and you won't be able to suppress it <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

Re: forcing a change and it not working.
The wolf has been coming and going the kitsune is there but feels kinda like a wounded animal.

Re: Suppressing the Other
Split from the Forcing a Change thread. I thought there could be some good discussion on suppressing your other self.

I don't know that I've ever heard of someone suppressing any part of themselves and being better off. The trick is to find a good balance. Like obviously not acting wolfy at school or work, but then wearing your tail at home at night.

Re: Suppressing the Other
hey acting Wolfy on the battle field saved my butt several times lol! I used to be a "military contractor" aka merc my specialty was assassination and search and rescue in that order so the animal side came in handy for that line of work still got blown up took out my lower spine I can walk and run but thats about it.

the wolf side has been coming back it just went on the back burner after my mom blew up on me for calling her took me 3 months to reach her too...

I got in the habit of suppressing my kitsune side over 2 years ago when I was in a relationship with a guy who claimed he was a dragon other kin have my doubts at this point but he hated any and all foxes kitsune included and I ended up not talking more than one brief sentance a day at most and eventually started cutting my self and putting out cigars and cigarettes on my arms and hands smoking heavily and now it seems I can't live on if I keep suppressing it as it's too self destructive so I'm trying to accept it's part of me regardless of what someone else wants...

Re: Suppressing the Other
This is interesting. Before coming here I've never heard of anyone hating anyone else for their kintype. That seems so strange. Where does that even stem from?

Re: Suppressing the Other
He had his experience with all foxes was being cheated on by furries who he wanted to be with and tevix was always... Unstable at best he eventually developed a hatred for all things fox kitsune included.
