Soul merge?
What is a soul merge exactly? Just wondering since I read it in another topic. I figured I'd ask it here, because the other topic seemed inappropriate for such a question.

It may be a very dumb question. Even I can use some form of logic to realize that soul merge might be the joining of two souls. Or more, for all I know. But do those souls simply share a deeper connection? Or is it more like mixing paint?
Do the two souls slowly become one, or is it.. well, like putting red socks in the white laundry?

..is my question making sense yet?

Re: Soul merge?
The only thing I have experienced that could be described as a "Soul merge" was when I managed to join with either the Supra-soul of this planet, or the Meta-soul of Existence Itself. And when that happened, it was like being a cell in our bodies. We ARE the thing, and the thing IS us, but we are also our own-thing. Thus, I *was* this giant consciousness, but at the same time, the one tiny bit that was a separate "me". And then, after eternity, and no time at all, I dropped out of the merge. Probably too much for my incarnated Self to handle at the time.

Re: Soul merge?
Well, see, that's just the thing. A soul merge can be many different things. The details vary greatly but a 'soul merge' can be defined by the state of the being.

A 'Multiple' would be someone who has two or more defined souls inhabiting a single body.

A 'Fused Soul' would be a being like me where two seperate souls becoming a single soul.

It really does depend on who you ask on how souls merge. I know it isn't much of an explanation but the particulars someone else can probably do better with.

Re: Soul merge?
"Soul merge" is not a strictly defined term, as such it's pretty meaningless to ask what it means in general - only what it means to a specific individual using it.

If you are asking in what ways souls can become linked, then the answer is pretty much any way you can think of and then a few more.

Re: Soul merge?
Okay.. then another question. Would a soul merge be possible for two separate beings? Two beings in different bodies I mean..

As in my previous post - that depends what *you* mean when you use the term "soul merge".

Re: Soul merge?
Well obviously not a 'multiple', since I think multiples shared one body..

So just stick with laundry thing. There's a white sock/soul, and a red sock/soul. They don't become a pink sock together, but the white one turns pink. Or gets pink spots. Or whatever. I never actually put red socks in with white socks, so I don't know. A. is that possible? B. Is that still a soul merge? SInce I still have no idea what a soul merge exactly is.

To summarize? A. Yes; B. I prefer thinking of it as a taint. The energy of one being taints the other being until it becomes something other than itself.

I don't use the term soul merge, though, so it may still count. Not sure if anyone else uses my terminology, either.

Yes, this is possible, and in fact I would say it is common.

Have you ever loved someone, and had them die, and felt like part of you went with them?

Been so close to someone you find yourself with some of their traits and personality quirks?

Tied up with a person to the extent that on the one hand you don't feel quite "right" when they aren't physically around, but on the other hand you feel fine because you know that person is somewhere?

In my experience, it is not uncommon for what makes a person a person to "bleed over" into someone else, like sock dye running. In fact I'd say if you are especially close to someone (either in a negative or positive way) and spend a lot of time around them, it would be unusual if you *didn't* bleed over into each other.

As for you not knowing what a soul merge is - as has been said on this thread before, it is a very vague and woolly term referring to two souls being connected in some way, which has absolutely no strict definition and as such means no more or less than the user wants it to mean.
