Quite an interesting read. Luckily, it was quite small and not many people were injured, but it's not often the UK gets tremors!

(That, and I woke up at 1AM to find the entire house shaking and a loud rumble from outside - I lay awake for two hours afterwards wondering if I'd imagined it or if it really did happen.)

Wow. Glad you are safe.

I would have done the same thing. When a refinery not too far away from my parents home had an explosion, it felt like an earth quake. Everyone but myself and my Dad slept through the ruckus. If he had not gotten up, I would have though it was a dream.

*hugs* They can be scary enough.

Everyone I know is fine (and a few people slept through it!). It was only a small quake, but it did cause quite a bit of panic (particularly in Lincolnshire, where it was centred) and (I think this is in the BBC report) one man had a broken pelvis from falling debris.

*hugs*

acctually a 5 can cause damage so it's considered a mid range one up here.. ofcourse, we don't call it an "earthquake" rather than a small tremor unless it's over 3

I felt it, thought it was one of my cats jumping at my door to get in though.

Yeah, I was thinking, "Who the hell is that? What the hell are they doing to my door?" Then I went to sleep.
