Regarding defaults/autopilots
Have any multiples here experienced an 'autopilot' in the front (for example, all headmates in the 'back' or you cannot 'feel' anybody there)?

When I'd first experienced such - I had gone into observation, but Blake was not in the front - I'd honestly been quite scared by it (there have been instances where I've suspected there may be a third headmate in the system, and this was one of those times) because I could not 'feel' who was there in particular. I knew it hadn't been Blake, and I knew it hadn't been me. The body was still, and although I was doing a task at the time I wasn't focussing and I seemed to be 'zoning out' during a lot of this. A minute or so after I registered this strange feeling I went back to the front again to gain control.

So ... has anyone here had something similar? On the other hand, has a feeling like this led to the discovery of another person?

Your thoughts, OKP. :3

Re: Regarding defaults/autopilots
Could it just be that you and Blake are simply zoning out in which no one is in control? There are times when my body continues to do normal, every day tasks while my mind is in another world. I'm not sure how you tell the difference between when Blake is fronting and when Lishie is fronting, but if it doesn't feel like either of them are in control your body could simply be going about it's normal business while your two distinct minds wander. Or it could be a sign that there is another person trying to make themselves known. I don't have any experience in that area so hopefully another multiple can offer some advice there.

I would try to concentrate on the feeling of this and see where it leads you. Perhaps it's just Blake and Lishie giving the single brain a break and letting the body drive itself for awhile. Or it could be another person trying to call attention to themselves. Please keep us posted.

I know it's neither me or Blake there - I can zone out and still be aware of who's there - in this situation I tried to 'feel' who was there in the front and knew Blake was in the back, as was I. It's actually really hard to describe how I know which one's in the front (usually it's the mindset, the feeling of gender and the way the brain is thinking, I can scan over these and easily tell which one is controlling the body - also, if I feel like I'm 'floating', it's generally Blake fronting).

It is possible it's just both our minds wandering, though, we can do that quite well.

Re: Regarding defaults/autopilots
I read while traveling. It's like being in observation while my body's working towards my destination, I suppose. I have to pull myself back into the world for such complex tasks as pressing the "Walk" button, but overall, it's a normal experience.

Thanks for your input, Deros. It's good to know it can be normal! ^^;

Re: Regarding defaults/autopilots
Are you just referring to dissociation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissociati ... chology%29 ) and/or the related concepts of derealisation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derealization ) and depersonalisation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depersonalization )?

These states are normal if they are only occassional.

"Depersonalisation" seems to fit the bill.

Thank you for the input, Archer.

Re: Regarding defaults/autopilots
No worries. I experience all three from time to time so it's of particular interest to me.
