Plurality and Constructs
Alrighty then.

I'm not overly familiar with Chaos Magick, but for a while I was reading around websites on it (this was years ago, when things like Barbelith were still active). This has also been corroborated via Dion Fortune's _Psychic Self-Defense_ -- that is, the ability to externalize energy into a form which can then be directed and act as though it were *not* you, even though it's fed by your energy.

To be quick about it, I'm wondering if Bell (the spirit being I think I joined with) was a construct like this, who I then just ended up reabsorbing. For those who don't remember: Bell was my "spirit friend" when I was 11 or 12, whose actions I did not fully and consciously direct, as I had with my other "imaginary friends." This lack of control, along with parental acknowledgment (from a young age) that spirit contact might happen, caused me to believe that he wasn't myself.

This alternate hypothesis would essentially mean that, instead of being psychic, I was actually practicing magic(k) from a young age; and that would mean that I in fact do not have to worry about going around and absorbing other beings in the future. Basically, there would just be an error of understanding corrected, which would then make me a mage (even if a crazy mage, who, given the predominance of Western Mystery Tradition thinkers I've read, shouldn't be working in magick) and not a psychic. I would still be plural; it would just be acknowledged that all of me came from me. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

Thoughts? Good places to look for more information? I used to have a list of texts in the vein of _Liber Null and Psychonaut_ around somewhere, but unfortunately I'm not entirely sure where it went...

Re: Plurality and Constructs
I'm not too sure it works like that. When I had my multiple system, I created numerous "artificial" multiples, but every construct had a blatantly different feel to them compared to those that were true. Personal experience further states that integration with a construct tends to be exceptionally easy should the creator wish it so, that the process is fluid, and that there tend not to be any serious changes. Integrating a construct would be akin to growing a little bit stronger, being able to lift 140 pounds whereas before you could only lift 120. Integrating another being is more along the lines of growing a new arm entirely.

To better illustrate, I still do not fully consider myself fully, 100% "coalesced", and I initiated the process years ago. Integrating a construct was near instant.
