Personality?
I've been reading through and it seems peoples personal experiences with their kin-self (didn't know how else to put it) varies quite a bit. I don't find that surprising at all; it's a deeply personal experience. But I was wondering if there were, perhaps, some trends...

Some are still unsure, some seem pretty solid on what they are, I've even noticed that some have another name for the part of them that is kin. So, I think what I mean to as is; is the spirit/soul part of an aggregate, or even an egregore, or more like individual personalities? And is it so engrained in the human soul that it's one and the same individual, or are they separate... Is it just a matter of familiarity, the amount of effort one has put into discovering this part of them, or is it something that may be different for kintypes? eg, a demon might be individuals and a wolf might be the essence of all wolves? (I just picked those two examples out of the air to illustrate what I'm getting at, in no way do I have any idea what the nature of either of those kintypes might be like).

Re: Personality?
Okay, so I'm coming in here as more of a mystic as versus someone with a solid knowledge of otherkin experience, because I don't know for a fact right now, that I'm otherkin. My nature is to be apt to channel energies, without formal invocation. Because of this, I'm thinking I may be a medium...which informs the rest of this reply.

I've found that whatever energy I'm dealing with which is strongest at the time, I tend to think of, in the moment, as myself. I did think for a while that I was demonkin, but I'm not certain of that, if I ever was -- it could be more that I'm dealing with an energy who is trying to help me, or that I just am apt to harmonize with Demonic energy. From what I've learned from Demonolatry, it's a bit clearer why the sect I'm most familiar with discourages personal identity as a demon, or Demon -- because there's a difference between synching with a Demon or being ridden by a Demon, and being that Demon.

Because of my experience with channeling...and because of being energetically sensitive...I tend to see others as possibly doing both, without knowing that they're doing it. That is, I tend to see people (by this I mean living human bodies) as potential conduits for spirit energy...

I'm not sure how much this reply will help, but I'm hoping it may. I will leave the rest of the speculation to people who know better what they're talking about... <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

I'm a therian and I don't experience my therianthropy as something separate to myself. It's just me, it's how I am. It doesn't have a different name to me and it doesn't have a different personality either.

But it's different for every individual, as I'm sure you've worked out. :3

Re: Personality?
For me, it's not that there are two separate sides to me: there is no "human me/demon me" going on here.

I am demon. In all aspects other than the physical, I am demon. But can I say I've been unaffected by living as a human, in human society, in human body? Hell no! It's most definitely changed me.

Are there times where I feel I can drop the guise and act as the demon I believe myself to be? Yes.

And that would be "my kin side," if I ever had one: my uninhibited self. My true self. Me when I'm not making pleasantries for nice society, when I'm not following customs, or traditions, or rituals, or little nuances that permeate the species I currently live in. My unadulterated energy and the tendrils I feed with.

Kin me IS me. But if I always looked at other people as things to feed off first, and human beings with their own thoughts and souls secondly, I'd have been long ago dead.
