And regarding that as a "possibility", I would love to know how E = MC 2 translates to "physical shifting is possible".
Roughly speaking DNA works by having little blueprints for making different proteins and such. Yes, DNA can be changed . . . but for those changes to come into action new cell growth is required, a process that in some parts of the body takes years. In the interim, there is a high liklihood of the body's pre-existing immune system recognising the new cells as alien (eg cancerous) and trying to obliterate them.
There is also the high liklihood that interim stages would simply not be viable. Some stomach cells (for example) reproduce very frequently. Could the stomach lining of a new species allow digestion in a manner to provide nutrition to a body mainly of the old species? (And on and on and on for whatever permutation you like.)
Finally with regards to "energy", I don't know if this is relevant to this thread, but it might be so I'll raise the issue anyway. The "energy" of E = MC 2 is not the same thing as the "energy" of energy work. The latter refers to chi, ki, psi, whatever you want to call it. It's a subjective phenomenon that has thus far not been measured by science. In the former sense, however, energy is the amount of work that can be accomplised by a force. Different concepts.
If you have any theoretical or hypothetical suggestions for how a physical shift might happen, I'd love to hear them in as much detail as you have. Unfortunately otherkin forums have lots of people who want such things to be possible, but a distinct lack of people who have either accomplished it or even have a sound reason for believing it can happen. If you could provide the latter, it would make great reading for a lot of interested people.
