Otherkin Theme Song
I did it once before and it’s still something I’m interested in since from the last one I discovered a lot of great otherkin related songs for a soundtrack I compiled. Also, it’s a nice way to get to know people better (along with some of their tastes in music).

So without further ado, I ask for your otherkin theme song. Think of it like this: what do you want playing during the opening credits for your otherkin sitcom/soap opera/musicale/drama/sports broadcasting/Home Ec. instructing/sketch comedy/talk show/Saturday morning cartoon theme song?

Mine hasn’t changed, since the main one would definitely still be:

Blackmore’s Night – The Storm
Quote:A timeless and forgotten place,
The moon and sun in endless chase
Each in quiet surrender
While the other reigns the skies…
The midnight hour begins to laugh
A summer evening's epitaph,
The winds are getting crazy
As the storm begins to rise… (2x)

Wild were the winds that came
In the thunder and the rain
Nothing ever could contain
The rising of the storm…

In the wings of ebony
Darkened waves fill the trees
Wild winds warning
Ample through the air…

[Chorus]
Follow the storm now I've got to get out of here…
Follow the storm as you take to the sky…
Follow the storm now it's all so crystal clear,
Follow the storm as the storm begins to rise…

She seems to come from everywhere
Welcome to the dragon's lair
Fingers running through your hair
She asks you out to play…

For all of nature's sorcery
The most bewitching entity
Hell can have no fury
Like the rising of the storm…

[Chorus]

Follow the storm now I've got to get out of here…
Follow the storm as you take to the sky…
Follow the storm now it's all so crystal clear,
Follow the storm as the storm begins to rise…
As the storm begins to rise…

Though I have a few others one the backburner which I feel do sum up my kinship as well:
Bruce Dickenson – Tears of the Dragon (More of an after the awakening and hading into the fun feelings of turmoil, denial and acceptance of what I felt I was yet couldn’t be. Yay internal struggles with one’s crazy.)
Flyleaf – Broken Wings (During my awaking i was also going threw my first serious relationship. He was very understanding and patient with me threw the entire process, and this song reminds me of his support as well as how lost I still felt)
Sisco – Unleash the Dragon (What? Don’t judge me!)

As for the explanation as to why I settled on The Storm: after a good listen it’s clear that the song is describing a dragon (wing’s of ebony, dragon’s lair, ect.) in an inaccessible setting (I relate this to being somewhere in me since I see the dragon as a part of my self and not as a separate entity {at least anymore, yay almost acceptance!}). To me, it’s about the rising of the dragon from this place, thus I attribute this greatly to my awakening.
Also the rhythm of the music and flow of the lyrics portray the emotions I went threw during that period of my life. Calling it a storm is overly fitting to the point that a lot of my mental shifts can still feel like residual storms resurfacing.

Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler

Wait, what?? No!! D:

I didn't know then, and I don't really know now. All I can really settle on is the fact that anything I take as a kinside anthem has more to do with the music itself than the lyrics (such as Aereogramme - Untitled). The cloud-humper in me could care less about words.

Re: Otherkin Theme Song
I have two that are both equally valid choices.

Wolfen One by Heather Alexander
Wolfen one,
You are my midday moon and I, your midnight sun.
Wolfen one,
Our journey's at an end but life has just begun.

When first we met, I thought
That what I felt could not be true.
But through the sharing of our hearts
There now is one where there was two.

Left to right,
the meeting of the darkened day and dawning night.
Drum to tune,
the joining of the shining sun and silver moon.

I knew the risk I took
when down beside you I had laid.
And lo, the breath of two new lives
was well worth the price I paid.

Wolfen one,
come dance with me and gaze back at which we have done.
Wolfen one,
We've sown the threads by which the future shall be spun.
Wolfen one,
You are my midday moon and I, your midnight sun.
Wolfen one-

Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace
I can't escape this hell
So many times i've tried
But i'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal, this animal)

I can't escape myself
(I can't escape myself)
So many times i've lied
(So many times i've lied)
But there's still rage inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal

Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
Somebody wake me from this nightmare
I can't escape this hell

(This animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal, this animal)

So what if you can see the darkest side of me?
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
(This animal I have become)

IAMX - Bring Me Back a Dog. That's all I could think of...though I used to joke that Hungry Like the Wolf was up there on the list, lol.

Re: Otherkin Theme Song
The Hell Song- By Sum 41

Everybody's got their problems
Everybody says the same things to you
It's just a matter how you solve them
And knowing how to change the things you've been through

I feel I've come to realize
How fast life can be compromised
Step back to see what's going on
I can't believe this happened to you
This happened to you

It's just a problem that I'm faced with am I
Not the only one who hates to stand by
Complications that are first in this line
With all these pictures running through my mind

Knowing endless, consequences
I feel so useless in this
Get back, Step back, and as
For me I can't believe

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if it's for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if it's for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure
Anymore

Everybody's got their problems
Everybody says the same things to you
It's just a matter how you solve them
But what else are we supposed to do

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if it's for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure

Part of me, won't agree
Cause I don't know if it's for sure
Suddenly, suddenly
I don't feel so insecure
Anymore

Why do things that matter the most
Never end up being our choice
Now that I find no way so bad
I don't think I knew I what I had

Why do things that matter the most
Never end up being our choice
Now that I find no way so bad
I don't think I knew I what I had

(Eli- I considered Animal for mine, but decided that I'm not quite in that position anymore. I think I'm just not trying to avoid it anymore)

I picked it not because I'm a vicious crazy-for-blood wolf, but because the "trapped" theme rings true to Otherkin and because the song, with it's music and lyrics almost always puts me in a wolfy mood. The Wolfen One song is probably better for my therian theme song though. But I love Animal too.

I don't think it would fit all otherkin, but my theme song and tribute to it all is Paul Simon's Under African Skies....or Master Destroyer by Tenacious D

I never claimed you were, and I'm not claiming that I ever was nuts with anger. It is the trapped thing that I was thinking of. My deepest wants and desires, buried beneath years of society, finally coming out scared me at first. But now I'm not avoiding it. But yeah, the song in itself is great. I have never heard a better beat. Perfect for walking to.

Well I vote for this piece!

Sins of thy Beloved - Forever

Way up at the mighty mountains
deep into the woods
we are gathered and we are back
at las the night is ours

Tonight our shadows dancing
in the light of a fire
this night is to be remembered
this night we'll free our souls

Tonight we are all together
tonight we all leave together
whe the darkness falls we are on our way
tonight we are all together
tonight we'll leave together
this is our dream forever
now we are leaving

In the mighty woods i wander
through the trees thou can see my shadow
by the cold wind in my skin
i behold my throne for thee my sorrow

Now the symphony plays my song
my voice thou hear in the night
i will never leave for no one else in my life

And now we are up together
and soon we'll dance forever
sing my choir let this night be remembered

Now my angel sing for the darkness
forever dancing in this cold winternight

Re: Otherkin Theme Song
Now that Dan (Symphonika) has graciously blessed us with his awesomeness, I would say "Anael," "Cassiel," or "Ariel" from Gothic Angel Warriors.

No words, but they speak for themselves without them well enough.

And should it be that we shall never meet again,
Know that I will always keep you in my heart,
And I will search for you in that time beyond time
Until we do meet again, and you will know
That love and family are the miracles of the world.
