Other than chaos and order...
What are some other things that separate angels and demons other than the fact that angels are order, and demons are chaos? I know this is a very short post, but I've been experiencing mindblocks lately.

I wouldn't even say that "angels are order, demons are chaos" is a useful distinction.

I would simply say that a demon is an entity composed of or strongly imbued with chaotic energy, and an angel is an entity created by some form of higher power for some form of service.

Re: Other than chaos and order...
Me? id say that while they may originate from thier respective sources, chaos and order/divine, the choices they make may alter that. i wouldnt go so far as to say as falling or rising, but definitely do different from what may be expected of them. just a thought...

as far as other sources? i dont see why not, just cause weve not seen it doesnt mean much...

Re: Other than chaos and order...
I used to take more or less a traditional stance, seemingly less and less these days, on angels and demons. Though, I'm still coming to my own conclusions on this and other things concerning angels and demons but it is somehting I've been thinking about. Thank you for raising this and I'll give it some thought.

Re: Other than chaos and order...
I'm not particularly fond of the order/chaos means of defining demons and angels, and their differences. To me, an angel is a celestial (which is an energetic being created by X for purpose Y) - created by YHWH/God/the source/monotheistic pantheon/etc. And the umbrella term of demons being the same, save for being in rebellion against their creator.

Angels are military, demons are civilian? As in, for the most part, we serve under the command of one, while demons serve their own interests. O'course, you get the angels that go AWOL, and the demons who will do freelance work for a sort of higher up, but generally...

Re: Other than chaos and order...
I've never heard any one definitive defenition on what the difference between an angel and a demon is, other than angels are servants of a montheistic diety, demons are not. I've seen chaotic behaviour patterns in angels and I know a demon that which is so orderly in all his ways that sometimes he makes me think he might have OCD. There are so many things that which have been called "demons" by followers of other religions that it's almost impossible to know what is and what is not "a demon". The lines of the definitions blur and sometimes overlap.
So yes, other than chaos and order, I'd state natural forces, god-forms of any kind, and perhaps even strong emotions, as possible sources of entities that which we "could" define as celestials and/or demons.
Just my 2c.

Re: Other than chaos and order...
The other thing that makes it difficult is that chaos is a form of order, by a form of order it is a lack of order, but it still makes the two surprisingly similar.

Honestly I've always found Angels and Demons to be more similar than not. Outwardly, they tend to be very different, from appearance and manifestations, to actions and the like. At the core they are are oriented with the primal energies of existence, in an ordered form and in a chaotic form.

The maximum effective range of an excuse is zero meters.
