Obligatory Introductory Post
Hello. Welcome to my introductory post. I hate doing these things. I never know what to say because I'm not a very exciting person. So, here are a few random facts:

-I live in Texas.
-Star Trek: Deep Space 9 was the best Star Trek series ever made. You think otherwise? You are wrong.
-My favorite authors include Sheri Tepper and Terry Pratchett.
-I spend much of my free time playing video games.
-I rode horses for many years, and always had a soft spot for the cranky brown ponies no one else wanted to ride.

I'm here because I asked Archer to point me towards the most sane otherkin site on the web, so blame her.

Wow, three "welcomes!"

For MMOs, at the moment I play World of Warcraft and Warhammer Online. For PC games, I love the Elder Scrolls series. I have wasted so much of my time on Oblivion, and ESPECIALLY Morrowind. Morrowind actually stands out in my mind as my favorite PC game of all time. I had that whole thing altered by mods by the time Oblivion came out. I was also a big Heroes of Might & Magic fangirl, especially HoMM3. Hm... Warcraft III was wonderful, of course. And, this may be a silly mention, but the first PC game I really got into when I was a little girl was Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny. I should look into getting a port of that one, and relive the fun of sliding along walls looking for secret passages, and picking up delicious-looking plates of chicken and mashed potatoes from the floors of the dungeons. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the old 80s Hitchhiker Guide the the Galaxy game. It turned my frustrated mood right around one day when I typed "kill self with toothbrush," and Arthur died.

For console games, I've always been a Nintendo girl. My favorite series on Nintendo is the Zelda series. Once I got older and was able to use Playstations my friends have, and experienced the joys of Disgaea and Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. Okay, that Arc the Lad game wasn't exactly a classic, but I enjoyed it to a stupid degree. I think playing both sides and therefore fighting against myself was what gave me so much glee. Oh, and I should mention Xenogears, which has the best story I've ever seen in a video game. WOW, that one was awesome. Going back to Nintendo for a moment, I can never get enough of Smash Brothers. Smash Brothers = BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER. I'm usually not impressed by Final Fantasy games (other than graphics), but FFVI had the best story of a FF game, and I got a kick out of IX for some stupid reason. I maintain that the only good thing about FFVII was the opportunity to make Cloud into the prettiest princess of them all.

Well, I'm sure that's more than you ever wanted to know, but it was fun reliving old memories.

ETA: Myst! How can I forget the Myst series?

Unicorn!!! *ahem* Welcome Since I've come across maybe 3 unicorns in my online wanderings I'm especially interested to here how you came to the conclusion that you're unicorn-kin.

Re: Obligatory Introductory Post
Ah! I am impressed! It's not every day that you find a Disgaea / Nippon Ichi fan.

Never mind the fact that you're a unicorn otherkin, I'm more reluctant to believe that you're a female gamer, because no female ever (evar I say!) plays video games. It's like the unwritten rule of the universe. No, in fact, I'm pretty sure that a few years from now, astronomers will map out the positioning of the stars and find the hidden message "female gamers do not exist". It's right there waiting for us.

But I kid. =P

Re: Obligatory Introductory Post
In my experience loads of women play video games, but the "OHMYGOD YOU'RE A WOMAN!!!" threads get tiring after a while
