"Myth" Kin
I know we have plenty of dragons and fae, but I'm wondering if there are any other mythical kin around here. Gryphons are really rare, it seems, but I've know phoenix and unicorn kin, as well as a few other "mythical" creatures. Are there any around here? And any ideas why we're so rare compared around here?

I'm pretty sure that we have a firebird around here somewhere... lost the name in the junk drawer of my mind, though.

EDIT: Never mind, I was thinking of Elvanos. Damn you and your misleading avatar *shakes fist*

Angels, demons, therians, vampires . . . almost all otherkin are "mythkin" in that they feature in myths and legends (whether that validates them, invalidates them, or neither is another point entirely). Even shadows are arguably mythkin (or perhaps urbanmythkin) in that while they don't appear in classic or historical myths, they are a fairly well known modern phenomenon.

Re: "Myth" Kin
I don't think therians count on the whole. I don't think too many people can doubt that things like hawks and wolves exist (unless they're really philosophical or have been under a rock their whole life).

The mixbreeds like werewolves- yeah, those are mythological beings.

Meirya has a phoenix part, though I'm not sure if she considers it part of her theriotype.

And should it be that we shall never meet again,
Know that I will always keep you in my heart,
And I will search for you in that time beyond time
Until we do meet again, and you will know
That love and family are the miracles of the world.

Re: "Myth" Kin
Hm, Archer already tagged this ,but from my perspective - id say that therians are less "mythical" so to speak than the rest of kin; angelic, fae, dragon, demonic, etc, has anyone ever found any proof of such, or anything to support thier existance at all? i havent, but that doesnt mean ill instantly discount thier existance either - especially not considering what i feel.

but i have said i dont deny being insane either, so it could all be a looneytoon delusion. <!-- sWink --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- sWink -->

Re: "Myth" Kin
The amount of mermaids seem to have popped up in quantity. And I once knew a unicorn-kin. Not here, online though.. but me and her don't talk anymore ^^ She was....really private. I mean incredibly private about herself. I'd never met anyone since then that was as private as she was.
