We're thinking of naming her Fedora or Kisa (means cat in Icelandic).

Inasmuch as I don't have a vote - I'd have to vote for Kisa.

This defines cuteness.

IMO I think Kisa is a better name than Fedora.

Re: Min & Sel's new PUPPY!
I'm gonna go against the grain and say I think calling a dog Cat is kind of insulting, and Fedora is a great name.

No idea how it would be pronounced in Iceland, but I think Iapetus is the moon that's half black and half white, which always seemed to me like a cool name for a black and white critter.

Heh. That would more or less be why I cast my vote as I did. And it amused me. Not that I expected my vote to actually have any weight in the matter.

You think "Cat" is an insulting name for a dog, so because it's insulting they should call their dog that?

You must be great helping people pick baby names

Re: Min & Sel's new PUPPY!
We've decided to go with Fedora.
Puppy is still a baby, only 7 weeks old, and so she does fast cycles of; wake up - go pee - run 'round play for 5 minutes - chew on toys for 10 minutes - crash and sleep for 10-20 minutes... and repeat!
She hasn't had a lot of accidents in the house since we take her out right after food, and immediately when she wakes up, and when she's been running 'round longer than usual and might need to go.
We let her run 'round out on the snow a bit too, doesn't seem too bothered by the cold.

She's very very very very chewy. Thankfully we have some things 'round the house she's allowed to chew on, and I picked up a couple small-dog-chew-bones for her to nom on a little bit. She likes to chase it 'round on the linoleum we have in parts of the house. She also likes to chase an empty half-liter bottle of coke 'round on the same flooring, in fact it seems like her favorite toy at the moment.

So far, the only time I've heard her bark is in her sleep. She'll be conked out completely and then all the sudden there's a little yip.. yip.. yip... then kicking paws like she's running.. and then she's quiet and cozy again.
She also does little suckling motions at times.. it's cute as hell.

She's a little bit whiny, but that's to be expected from a little baby pup.

She's still getting used to having a collar, and sleeping alone, and sleeping in her designated night-space, and sleeping all night. (I'm getting up a couple times a night to take her out to pee, which helps make sure she doesn't get remotely used to peeing in the house.
