Mer-Kin
Okay I'm really interested in this...

Has anyone ever heard of or met anyone who is mer-kin of any kind? Like mermaid-kin?

Just wondering if they're out there! I was fascinated with mermaids as a kid

Re: Mer-Kin
Unfortunately, not that I know of... maybe try Googling "mermaid otherkin"? I do know someone who I suspect might be nymph or maybe mermaid-kin, but this person doesn't believe in these beings at all and hasn't awakened.
But we could still try and guess... you mean how would being mer-kin would manifest? I suppose they'd be really really drawn to sea/water in general, and would swim like they were part fish Also they probably would try and spend as long as possible in the water or near it, would feel rather drawn to sea animals and probably really interested in anything sea-related, be it the scientifical or mythological aspects. The girls would probably be rather flirty, yet tricky, I suppose.

Re: Mer-Kin
I have a mermaid form and i've met mermaid on the Planes, but i have yet to meet a mermaid kin yet. I would not be surprised if there were some out there.

I do not know if Mermaids fall into the realm of Fae or into their own category (ponders)

Re: Mer-Kin
I've heard of a mermaid somewhere on another forum, but this was a while ago and I've long forgotten what forum it was. I do remember that she had trouble sleeping every night and solved the problem with buying a water-bed. And she didn't eat fish.

*snickers* Ya, watch that dash. I was involved in a discussion on another kin forum and as a result discovered what a merkin was.

Re: Mer-Kin
...oh, dear...That was unexpected...

I remember someone who had phantom gills and ended up having to sleep on an ice pack...No idea what happened to her though...Or who it was...

I was a mermaid type thingy once. I think. Although it's equally possible I was simply a dolphin or a seal. Or perhaps I've been all three (I'm a bit fuzzy on a lot of details...).

Re: Mer-Kin
I remember that post too! I think it was on OKA. At least, that's where I read it. No clue who it was, either... I recall Annabelle posting there I think, so maybe she might know who it was if you're on any other forums with her.
