Loui's introduction. :3
Good afternoon.
This Otherkin thing is very difficult for me to grasp. I've been researching it for several years [and bouncing around a plethora of different 'kintypes, most of which have been extant animals], and have come to the conclusion that if I am some species of Otherkin [that's an if], then I have no idea of what it is and I'm not allowed to pick something at random. I've figured that if I truly want to discontinue my 'kin-hopping ways, I might as well join what I've heard of as being the most sceptical Otherkin forum around. Would you lot mind an awful lot if I were to bounce the occasional idea against you? I know that I have trouble separating myself from my feelings enough to properly analyse what I feel to be true at times, and I really need that outside influence quite a lot.
I know this is supposed to be an actual introduction, though, not an "I'm a noob, poke me with a stick when I say stuff please." A little about me: I'm having a passionate love-affair with science and I'd like to go to university to study evolutionary biology some day. I identify as loosely Christian, and I'm really probably a completely awful person to discuss religion with because I tend to think that, well, Yahweh isn't the be-all and end-all. Polytheistic Christianity, for the win? The word vampire gets under my skin when applied to real life [come on, seriously, Lestat is a vampire. << it just gets to me that people use the exact same term for their very unremarkable 'conditions'], but given that I'm a dirty filthy little energy sucker, I guess I am a vampire. I once jokingly called myself a tapeworm to my sanguinarian boyfriend [we met in a 'vampire' discussion, it's really not that noobtacular that we're together given the circumstances under which we met].
I love clothing styles from the 1980's and I love wearing big, chunky wooden jewelry. I go to markets a lot and usually only end up spending my money at the food stalls, om nom nom. I think it would have been pretty cool to have been alive in the 1950's, but if I were alive then I would have had to do without the Internet and mobile ['cell' for the Americans] phones. That makes me twitch because I'm a big technophile. I also love space. <3 Mmm, aliens.
Ask me questions. Please. This isn't sarcasm; if I didn't want to be asked questions, I wouldn't have joined.
