Archer, you may not want to spend the money for it, but Nana Nauwald, who's been researching shamanic poses and trances for decades, has a book out (with the late Felicitas D. Goodman) covering various poses used by shamans for their rituals. Many of the postures are taken from Native American (usually Mesoamerica) statues, but there's also a good few from Europe and elsewhere; there's a whole section on Death/Rebirth postures.
