Less Than Savory Habits
Are there less than savory instincts or behaviors that you want to act on, or do act on? Such as scent marking, rolling in rather nasty things, eating things that you probably shouldn't, etc. Many creatures have habits that make humans go "ew, don't do that" and the question is do you have any? And, if you do, do you act on them or do you do anything to curb the instinct?

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
Well, I want to attack and kill humans...so that's rather nasty Tongue Also something I will never act on because 1. it's illegal and 2. I want to attack/kill/eat my fellow man in a prey drive sense and, lacking the teeth and claws to do so, there's no way to fulfill that even if it were legal. I just snap myself out of it when I find my mind 'going there'. I often get the urge to face rub to scent mark things, but that primarily seems to apply to significant others and hasn't been an issue.

Some less than savory instincts…

Arron wants to stalk and drink people’s blood and generally stalk/hunt/patrol around the city. He keeps all that contained to only our innerworld though for lots of obvious reasons.

Ebony finds death and decay interesting and rotting meat to smell tasty. We let him eat whatever he wants only in the innerworld which keeps him happy.

Joker and Knives tend to have the instinct to want to fight with claws teeth, and horns to compete or whatnot. We find them video games to play and such.

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
1. Occasionally wanting to attack and eat humans. This occurs almost always when I'm exceptionally hungry though. (Obviously one I'd never act on!)
2. Not minding the smell of certain "unsavory" things like carcasses, skunks, etc. Only a few times have I actually wanted to roll in them though.
3. Licking my bloody wounds.

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
I should probably answer and break it down by member.

Arawn

1. As others said, I sometimes have the urge to hunt humans. It's always in a vampiric way, but it's there and it's not all the time. It's very cold and calculating with a hint of thrill. I would never hurt another person, but the instinct is there.
2. I have a strong hunting instinct for boar and bear. It's rather gruesome and violent, but entirely animalistic about eating.
3. I used to lick my wounds, but I have to consciously remind myself that my mouth is gross and shouldn't be anywhere near an open wound.

Lestat

The only less than appropriate instinct is listed under my number one, but he's a vampire.

Fenrir

1. Along with hunting (humans aren't on his radar), scavenging is a large thing he contends with. When co-fronting it can be hard for him to pass fresh road kill, but innerworld he can have at it with scavenging.
2. Scent marking is a large thing along with wanting to roll in things he shouldn't.

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
Smelling body odors. Like intentionally. Usually my own. <!-- sTongue --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- sTongue --> Which usually don't smell bad to me. This is generally in sweat-producing areas...I shouldn't go where I think I'm going.

Then again, I have a tendency to smell the drafts behind people (it can tell you about their self-care habits) and today caught the unmistakable smell of prepubescent human child. That said, I'm also used to smelling things people leave behind (*cough* inner city *cough*) and that isn't nearly as pleasant.

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
I have a strong urge to murder, torture, and eat people. I don’t act on it due to law enforcement, lack of skill, and the possibility of diseases. I also know it probably wouldn’t be as satisfying as I want due to human biology. Instead, I fantasize, watch gory movies, and listen to music that suits my mood. Keep in mind that’s likely a psycho thing and not necessarily a troll thing.
For some reason, I also have an urge to perch on things. This is probably because I used to perch in trees a lot as a kid and I miss doing that. So far, I’ve gotten an odd look once, but that’s about it.
I want to bare my teeth and growl at people, but I avoid doing that because it would look and sound stupid.

Recently? Wanting to eat raw meat.

Like, seriously raw. The other day I got sad when I made bacon because I had to cook it to be safe. I like cooked meat plenty, but recently I've wanted raw meat very badly.

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
I eat raw meats from time to time, mostly just red and "technically not raw" meats (cured) which have minimal risk to my health and all that, but that's apparently really disgusting to a lot of people...

I also have moments where all I want to do is "hunt" and little bouncing flirty birds really irritate that reaction... chasing tiny birds is frowned upon...

Re: Less Than Savory Habits
I have some less than savory habits. Most notably the habit of eating food that falls on the floor, and licking stains on my clothes such as ketchup when I'm at the dinner table. If something spills on my shirt, I always want to lick and suck on the material until I end up with this big, gross wet spot on my clothing from licking it. It doesn't help the fact that I sometimes eat directly off my plate without silverware. I just stick my face in the food like an animal. I'll also lap things up off the kitchen table if something spills on the table like milk or juice.

Yeah, I'm a really messy eater when I'm eating my food "animal style" as I call it.
