Jobs
I'm curious, where does everyone work? It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would be normally discussed on this type of forum, but it's a common enough topic. Also, it leaves for much opportunity for irony

I've been employed at a pizza shop for the last year or so. I actually went through some of my first conscious cravings in years there. I've recently switched stores in the chain and was making sauce there. Sauce is messy as heck when you're making it. I had a bunch splash back in my face and go all over the one wall. Nobody understood why I was in the back laughing at the idea that I had managed to splatter everything within a certain radius bright red.

So where do you work and what are you stories from there, related to your kin type or not?

Re: Jobs
Currently my main focus is finishing my BS in nursing and acquiring a minor in gerontology along the way.

Though to help pay for all that I have spent the last two years working as a concierge in a retirement community. Basically, I’m one of the people that keep grandparents happy and sometimes alive (depending on situations).

I’m not that big a fan of working with kids, but hot damn do I love old people. This is one of the reasons I want to go into that specialization when I become a full fledged nurse.

As for stories, I have so many I wouldn’t know where to begin. Let’s just say that Alzheimer’s can be just as fun as it is sad.

Re: Jobs
Lmao. I was working in a gameroom at one of those pizza places/family fun centers for little over a year and a half. Now, I'm starting my new job as a cashier at an Asian Diner. XD

I'm taking classes here and there to get my AA in Business at community college, then transferring to a university where I can get my BA in Accounting.

Yea. Simim's gonna crunch numbers. Mebbeh I'll work for the IRS, now that everyone's enlightened me about government workings. Hehehehehe.

Re: Jobs
Stay at home mommy and wife to a disabled vet here, which is a job in itself. But I do run away to Tai Chi class three times a week, and teach my own beginner's class twice a week. There I get to teach seniors and a few younger folk too, how to unstress and not fall down. For older folk, not falling down means being able to take showers and walk without fear of a broken bone. For younger folks, it's about making the other guy fall down first. It makes me happy on many different levels.

I'm a "freelance occultist" an "amature philosopher" and a "traditional artist"... and I'm working on my book.
Out of these, the first is actually paying the best..

Re: Jobs
I am a research analyst for the Insurance Committee for the PA House of Representatives. I've worked in the complex for 3 years now and while I don't have any cool 'kin related stories, the PA Capitol is the most beautiful in the nation. (Teddy Roosevelt said it, I can just confirm it!) And while there are a ton of ghost stories surrounding the buildings in the complex, I have yet to actually see anything. But then, I haven't been here late at night yet.

I write for a living (and get paid for it!) and I even have my own office. Huzzah for my English degree!

Re: Jobs
I work for charity (I don't have an actual income). The money we gain from selling donations in the shop goes to the local hospice. I take note of bags of clothes, bric-a-brac and books to sell, I price things, I work the tills, I tidy the shelves and I help the customers on a Saturday.

It's usually me who fronts then - Blake has on occasion and will do if I don't feel up to it. The first time he did he had no idea how to work the till. We just stood there for five minutes while he tried to work it out. He's quite quick-thinking so he managed to get it after a few minutes, but we both felt really awkward at first. XD

Also, it was one session at work I noticed Rizumu's presence and started my poking. Since then she hasn't played an active part in our work-life (she often sleeps through it) so it's often Blake or I you'll see doing duties in the shop. :3

Re: Jobs
Right now...no where. I graduated in May and the job market sucks. If I'm still unemployed next month I'm gonna look for an internship at an aquarium and a part time job wherever will take me.
