Introduction
Hi there! *is nervous*

I'm Praetori, a female college student who practices shamanism, loves animals and studying human nature, among other things. I am a forest cobra therian and, well, something else that I call guardian. This guardian part of me is why I'm here. I'm doing research trying to figure out what it is.

The guardian is associated with earth, water, and night. Dead things practically find me and I take an odd sort of comfort in them. In meditation, I get that same sort of feeling when I have shifted into the guardian (and I smell like something dead). Here's the odd thing- sometimes I have four wings (two bird wings and a pair of leathery wings) but sometimes I only have the leathery wings. My feet have talons and I walk on my toes (digitrade?). Long hair(or else thin feathers) start from the middle of my lower leg and 'feather' out to cover my feet like a Clydesdale. My hands are clawed, scaly, and webbed. I have a thick, long tail that ends in a vertical paddle shape. My chest is broad and thick, and I have an elongated neck. Usually I move on all fours but I can stand on my hind legs naturally. I have fangs and wide nostrils and some thing on my neck, not sure if they are horns or stiff hair or what. The reason I call this nature the guardian is that the number one instinct/purpose is to guard. What, I don't know. But nothing else matters except guarding the whatever-it-is. (I plan to use my guardian instinct by enlisting in the military this winter.) The guardian is also very, very curious. My thought is that the curiosity is what led it to be in a human's body. So I'm not sure if the guardian is a dragon with a purpose, some kind of demon or something else entirely.

Sorry for the length of this introduction post, I just wanted to give everyone an idea as to where I'm at and what I'm doing here. =)

Welcome <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile --> Don't see many snake therians, cool beans! Sounds like the guardian could be some kind of demon (how chaotic does it feel?), other mythological being, or a something else. Keep us posted!

Re: Introduction
Sweet, it's always lovely to get another phantomly scaled critter about. Hope this forum either helps you figure the guardian thing out or at least send you in the right direction of doing so.

Re: Introduction
Woot, another water-loving guardian-type!

And total kudos to you for enlisting, and actually taking whatever you believe your calling is and living it.

Cheers to all the welcomes, and I echo them whole-heartedly! A forest cobra? Do you have a particular species you identify with? *is a ophidiophile* Your guardian side sounds very interesting. I definately can't wait to talk to you at more length! Welcome!

Re: Introduction
Thanks all for the welcomes, everyone. ^^

Your husband would be the fourth person to tell me to go into the air force. =) When I get back home(I'm on vacation right now) I'll hook up with a recruiter and look into that branch more. I either want to be a MP (military police so I could guard bases) or Human Intelligence Collection to satisfy my curiosity and really get in the middle of the mess. I talked with an ex-marine and he says anything I do that grants me a high level security clearance will be good, because afterward I could do contract work as a bodyguard.

What would you define as chaotic?

The guardian...is very secure and confident. Everything is either a threat or a non-threat (as opposed to the good-bad distinction people make). It doesn't feel the need to destroy anything unless it is a threat. If death is a part of chaos then yes, it feels chaotic. Death feels very normal and "right". My curiosity is very morbid and can be destructive, but it doesn't come out of a need for chaos. It's just the enjoyment of dead things and being inquisitive.

Naja melanoleuca is the species of cobra. They are commonly called forest cobras.
