I found this on a 'abduction survivor' website and just had to share. I find this borderline fluffy, but how many of the indicators can you claim? I know I got a few from the list. I dunno, I guess I just found a parellel between this list and some of the things that most OK say they feel/do as if they were trying to cover all people who have differences from the norm.

Re: Indicators of Alien Abduction...
The power of suggestion is dangerous.

Basically, if someone who never previously believed they'd been abducted read this he would instantly begin to look for evidence supporting that and ignore any evidence to the contrary.

Well, that's an unfair blanket statement. Some people might try to disprove their own abduction but those people are not the majority.

So, yes, fluffy. Especially because they cite specific examples of things like scars on the roof of the mouth. How would you even know you had them unless you knew to look?

Exactly, Malakoi (was gunna say Pat there for a minute heh). They supposedly compiled these 'indicators' from authenticated abduction cases. *chuckles* I watch the news, I think I would have heard about 'authentic evidence' of an alien abduction.

Wait, you mean that everybody who gives a damn about the planet has been abducted by aliens?
And what about hippies, then, do they come from outer space?

<!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

I can claim a few, although I'm positive no alien has ever come near me. And yep, sounds pretty fluffy too... especially the "hooded figures" bit.

Re: Indicators of Alien Abduction...
37 out of 52 indicators.

You know why I don't like my closet? Because it opens on its own. The hinges/latch are screwed up. So, I wake up halfway through the night, my bedroom door is locked, and the closet door is open. For some reason, no matter how many times it's happened, my mind instantly goes, "HOLY F$#& WHAT THE H@(# MY CLOSET IS EVIL!!!"

Then I remember why and go back to sleep. But it's still spooky.

OH, and then there was the one time my dog hid in my room and went to sleep in my closet. So, in the middle of the night, I start hearing this whining noise and I freaked out. But it was just my dog waking up asking me to let her out of my room. XD

Re: Indicators of Alien Abduction...
I didn't really bother keeping track, but I can claim a good portion of them as well. I'd venture a guess at around 20, since I don't feel like reading over those again.

To me, I've always been of the opinion of "why would aliens even care?" IN reality, there's a huge number of other, more interesting or useful planets to claim if they were looking for conquest. And if not, Any that intercept any of the random signals bouncing around the satellites up there would prolly decide against interfering. No matter the race, getting shot is high on the "things to avoid" list.

So yeah, Aliens are out there, might have passed by the planet a few times, but I can't really see many/any of them having much interest in the human race.

Re: Indicators of Alien Abduction...
Wow, and I thought my beliefs were considered "fluffy". I've got a good 27 indicators out of those 52. I think the closest I've ever been to an "alien" is one of the illegal aliens at school who assume I speak fluent Spanish.

As a person who used to study this with a degree of seriousness, I will prefix this by saying that anyone serious about inquiring about this topic wouldn't be asking these questions. Many of these are explained by known phenomena (e.g. scars you don't remember having inflicted upon yourself, sleep paralysis, dreams) and others are just suggestive/poorly worded.

43 apply to me, just because I interpreted them in the broad/vague way these questions were intended to be asked.

Re: Indicators of Alien Abduction...
I have never lost time in everyday life, and I've never woken up in a significantly different body state than when I've gone to sleep. Besides, if aliens had enough brains to learn how to travel the galaxy, they wouldn't come here. (Broadly, the earth. If that's too insulting, then just my home town)

That's my theory, them and the Mormans are aliens.

On a larger note, very interesting list. And really it's not a definitive, it's compiled mostly from the common traits of those who claim to have been abducted.
