If you could ask a psychologist...
If you could ask a panel of psychology and social work professionals anything, what would you ask?

Assume these professionals have at least a passing familiarity with and acceptance of occultism, energy work, and even otherkin.

What topics would you want to hear them discuss? What questions would you ask if you could?

Re: If you could ask a psychologist...
hmmm. my psychologist knows about the otherkin thing, and about my headmates. i can tell her everything, and if she's not familiar with, let's say, otherkin, she will investigate and even accept links from me. so... i don't know what i would ask...

Hum...

I really don't know.
I suppose I'd ask 'em about something profession related, not patient related.
About the difficulty maintaining professional objectivity in a subjective profession...

Something like that.

Re: If you could ask a psychologist...
I don't know either.
Considering that I got along well with my psychologist (way back when I had one), I wouldn't know what to say. I already have people I talk to about otherkinity, and I would assume that no matter who you talk to the reactions don't differ much: People either believe you to a certain extent, or they think you're crazy.

I guess I would talk about the psychology of the ego, if that makes sense.

Re: If you could ask a psychologist...
I'd say "Do you like hockey?"

There's nothing much special about psychologists, and I don't think that psychology has any more insight on otherkinism etc than it has on any other group. So, I'd see if I could get them talking about my favourite thing.

To the OP - your question suggests that psychologists might have some kind of special insight into otherkin etc (otherwise the topic might very well just be "If you could ask a bricklayer" or whatever). What do you think that insight is?

Re: If you could ask a psychologist...
It's less about psychologists having insight into otherkin and more about otherkin often having misconceptions of or hesitations about psychologists.

Yes but I don't thin the otherkin who have paranoid fantasies about mental health professionals trying to medicate or imprison them are likely to post much here

I hate to be off-topic, but:
