I'm Toby
I am 19 and entering my 2nd year of College. I have a long history of my werewolf side dating back to the 2nd Grade. I was one all my life but I became aware of my other side when I was 8. It was when I knocked a 9 year old bully's teeth out with a mere backhand. I never fully gained control until I was around 8th grade or while I was 13. I found my mate while in my Senior year of high school and I have visited her this summer for a week. Now that I'm back I've been depressed. I don't know if it's just human love sickness, but when you start howling from your loneliness it becomes obvious my wolf side is influenced by my separation. I've had some strange times where I bark out in class. It's so perfect that people often do a double take. Anybody like to share their accounts with me or ask me questions about my early awakening?

Re: I'm Toby
I've had many visions and dreams which I was a wolf like creature. One that was a humanoid as wolf like. I named my wolf side Toby. If I had not had these dreams I would assume that I was just wolf as opposed to Werewolf. The meaning of Werewolf is Man wolf, which the half Human half wolf fit the definition. Also I have been getting tid bits from Toby about two ideas werewolves had. One was Humans are food and the other is Humans are friends. Luckily Toby has the humans are friends idea down solid. I've made a book from some of the dreams I've had.

Re: I'm Toby
Hi, and welcome to OKP.

A couple of questions for you:

1 - You're referring to Toby in the third person. If you're not Toby, who are you, and who is he?
2 - What does knocking someone's teeth out have to do with being otherkin?

Finally - I saw you were in the chat a couple of times. Just in case you weren't sure, FluffBunny is a bot - and if no-one says anything it's not that they're ignoring you, they probably just aren't at their keyboards.

Re: I'm Toby
To answer question one is the I have given my other side the name Toby...he is basically my alter ego. I thought it would be cool to do so. I won't give my real name due to security concern.

To answer question two I was over taken by a rage that overcame me and I was in a daze, totally unaware in what happened. That's when I became aware of Toby. He does not like to take crap from anyone.

I am aware of that bot now and I feel completely stupid for talking to it now.

Re: I'm Toby
I am his mate here and I know he is otherkin. The childhood story may be irrelevant to most people but despite the fact he is very different and i can even sense the wolf in him. I love him dearly though. ^^ He didn't know what otherkin was till i told him. he is clearly otherkin as i have talked with him for almost 2 years and have met him in person.

Back to reference of the knocking someone's teeth out issue. that has reference to otherkin since as werewolf you gain inhuman strength. Kin types can be more physical than just merely feeling not human. some people have a stronger feel of their kin type than others.

Toby (as i will be nice and not use his real name even though i do know it) has a very strong link with his werewolf side....to the point that i can feel his presence in wolf all the way across the country. I can feel his presence on many occasions and it has only gotten stronger since we met each other this past summer.

I may not have as many experiences myself with my kin but i feel my kin types constantly and can relate to them myself.

I'm sorry, but this is a red flag for me. There is no way for any of us to "know" we are otherkin, let alone for our friends to "know". We "believe," but "knowing" implies that being otherkin is a truth, when there is no way to definitively prove it.

That and no one (except yourself) can tell you what you are. That includes your friends. So going around telling your friends that you "know" they're otherkin for whatever reason, while I'm sure you mean well, is most likely doing more harm than good in the long run.

DogDragonChi-zu Wrote:The childhood story may be irrelevant to most people but despite the fact he is very different and i can even sense the wolf in him.

Doesn't mean he is in some way a wolf therian. Depending when you run into me, you could "sense" basically anything in me, but it doesn't mean I'm that whatever you sensed.

DogDragonChi-zu Wrote:that has reference to otherkin since as werewolf you gain inhuman strength. Kin types can be more physical than just merely feeling not human.

Being otherkin is not a physical thing. Why? Because our DNA says we're human. "Inhuman strength" is simply not possible. Adrenaline can boost strength, but it is still human strength. You don't have to be a wolf therian of any sort to have boosts in strength. I doubt every mother who has had a moment of "inhuman strength" when trying to save her child is otherkin.

DogDragonChi-zu Wrote:some people have a stronger feel of their kin type than others.

This is true and has nothing to do with physical factors, because said physical factors are a product of our DNA and thus our humanity.

This means you have a connection. A close bond if you will. Many people develop them with people they are around a lot and/or care about. You don't have to be otherkin to do it. Again, like I said, people have "felt my presence" as any number of things...not always angel...yet I'm an incarnate angel. Go figure.

Re: I'm Toby
First off, welcome to OKP.

Second off, I know you two might be mates, but no one else can tell you what you actually are. It's something deeply personal that you have to discover on your own.

DogDragonChi-zu Wrote:that has reference to otherkin since as werewolf you gain inhuman strength.

Inhuman strength? I'm sorry but being Otherkin in no way gives you special powers. Just because you identify as a werewolf doesn't mean you can suddenly turn into a wolf on the night of the full moon! Those are popular Hollywood ideals and romanticized versions of what a werewolf is. DDC-zu, you make references to some people just being more in tune with their 'kin sides. Let me stress again that there are no special abilities, powers, etc. that you can aquire because you identify as Otherkin. Being a werewolf, or a wolf therian, is not about being cool and having "uber-cool-super-human-strength-and-speed!" it's about identifying on a deep and personal level with a particular 'kin type.

Re: I'm Toby
I'm getting a huge headache...why are we obsessing with the inhuman strength again? I've said that my personality is different than others. I thought I could explain it and that you would understand. All I getting from you is the implication that I don't belong here and have no place. My girlfriend was just trying to be nice so back off! Maybe the reason why you are all not understanding is that you are focusing on one thing instead of the many things that make me different. I came here to understand things...I can't explain these things. This poking me with the stick will only get you bit.
