I love my doctor!
After nearly 8 months (on and off) of steroid hell, which has seen my brain recover to a level where it can almost function but my bodyfat balloon from a near perfect 13-ish% to a simply horrendous 34-ish%, I am finally going to start weening off steroids for, fingers crossed, the last time . . . and here's the thing, they're being replaced with . . . MODAFINIL (aka Provigil)! That might not mean much to you, but from what I gather it's like Ritalin on Ritalin, rocket fuel they feed by the handfull to jet pilots and such

Archer's gonna be jet-powered but THIN again! YEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

*does the jet power dance*

I'm not actually meant to be starting the Provigil (even the name sounds rocket-powered!) until like Monday or so . . . but I'm thinking I might acquire it a little early cos I have a big hockey game on Monday, and hey, when your performance-enhancing substances are prescribed to you, it's not illegal

Re: I love my doctor!
You lucky dog! Provigil is one of the best drugs I've ever had the pleasure to experience! When I've taken it, colors look brighter, I finish things faster, and feel more focused and eloquent than ever. Enjoy it, and be very productive. =D(My guilty pleasure has been taking that and eating a few THC-infused goodies, producing all the normal effects of Provigil, plus an amazing body high. XD)

Re: I love my doctor!
I used Omeprazole when I had to lose weight, but I doubt it would mix well with what you're gonna be taking. Though, I loved the thing. 80 pounds in 3 months, with only a small exercise regimen.

Re: I love my doctor!
Omeprazole as in for acid reflux?

I've put on extra bodyfat due to months of steroids making me ravenous, not due to any issue with my stomach itself. And actually I'd love to avoid losing any weight, and just lose the fat - my current weight with a bodyfat percentage of 15 or so would be AWESOME, but considerably better than my physique even when I was a full time fitness freak - so it probably won't happen, heh heh.

Re: I love my doctor!
Uhm well

I didn't get my pills till after 6pm, so I won't start the provigil till tomorrow morning
But I had to take the new steroids this evening so my brain didn't go poof

Basically I'm off the superstrong dexamethasone, and on an equivalent amount of methylprednisolone which is gonna taper down

So I take the pills . . . immediately there's this strange acidic taste in my mouth

Within a moment the acid taste is so strong I can't make it go away even with juice, and I feel violently sick - but stop myself from being sick because I don't want to bring up the pills

So I'm trying not to puke and stuff, and eat some salted crisps (potato chips) as a totally bland food to settle my stomach - kinda works, I stagger to bed and read some 60s X-Men comics

Next thing you know the room is spinning, I am laughing hysterically, the comics are moving around the page, and I still feel sick

That was err four or five hours ago, no longer laughing, still spinning, still nauseus

will be interesting to see what happens when we add the stimulants to the mix, tee hee

okay I admit I am laughing a little, lol, nice thing about weird drug side effects is if they cause you to laugh you don't really care what else they're doing

Yeah, because my stomach overproduces its acids, it cut down on my need to eat to relieve the stomach pains, and helped me lose the weight.
Twas one of the very few smart doctors I had met.

I was a bit of a fitness freak at one point. Though, after a while, I figured it wasn't worth the pain and just stopped.
Then I started messing around with my muscles, figuring out which ones I could use for what, and now I use common muscles to do anything I need.
