Hullo!
Hello, my name is Mints and I'm currently ingraining myself into the Otherkin community. It feels very friendly around all the forums I've been to, so I decided to stop by here to see how it is.

I'm a Raven therian, more specifically that of the Australian Raven. I don't know exactly when I awoke, but it was during some spiritual exercise I was doing. My shifting experience hasn't been extraordinary; I usually just feel my phantom wings and birdy tail more often than not. I don't often shift with a beak, though when I sometimes do, it's very uncomfortable. I also cameo shift sometimes, usually with lynx attributes (elongated canines, paws, ears, a short tail). I shift spiritually during meditation. I really enjoy when I have dreams about flying, though it's never in bird form (one time I was a small red dragon!) but it makes me feel like I'm 'home'.

I practise witchcraft and have converted to Wicca since 11 years of age (7 years ago, jeeze has it really been that long???). I'm a solitary practitioner and prefer the eclectic path, although I'm still finding myself after all this time. I'm pansexual and gender fluid, even with being mostly comfortable in my birth given body. I prefer the singular 'they' pronouns, so "they"/"them"/"their" and other variants are all acceptable.

Separate from my otherkin/therian involvement, I do participate in the furry community. I'm more of an enthusiast, interested in the anthro art and roleplaying on Furcadia. Strangely enough, I never rp as a bird and almost always as a feline. I'm just really a cat person I guess.

I'm a part of Dragcave, Neopets, and Tumblr (PM me for my username, because I love to follow other people and especially if we have similar interests). I'm immersed in the Sherlock fandom, though I do enjoy the Avengers and occasionally Homestuck.

I'm fresh out of high school and am going to VCU this fall for psychology (as a Sophomore, since I got a lot of my credits from duel enrollment from the nearby community college). I want to one day become a criminal/abnormal psychologist, and hopefully work in a prison or something similar one day.

Ah, I recently stopped smoking (5/6 days ago). I'm on nicotine patches and I've been chewing gum like mad. Ugh, it's hard. Bluh. Cravings are stupid.

Re: Hullo!
Thank you both! And yes, a forum whore young Mints will be.

@elinox
Well, when I knew I was a raven, I have this thing where I need *labels* for things to make sense to me. I need to put things into categories and subcategories to keep them filed away in my mind. I've shifted during meditation before, and I took very close look at my appearance and tendencies, and the habitat which I was in. Took notes afterwards, did some research.

I was usually always in some bright dry hot area or in a forest. Othertimes I'd be near the water, but rarely, on mangrove roots and looking at my reflection (my fave area, the denseness of the trees and the clarity of the fish weaving under me, it seemed so magical). I came to the conclusion after some in depth look at plumage, throat hackles, calling, everything I could gather from all the times I'd meditate or dream plus use of the internet. Australian Raven was the closest and most accurate of all the compiled information is all. Besides, the label I've filed myself under just feels right.

*nods* I'm much the same way. It sounds like you did a lot of in depth research.
