Hey-o
Hail to all. I had the pleasure of being shown this site by seraphyna after meeting her through the Witch's Voice. My name is Stig. I am a dragon 'kin and while i've only recently found a name for this part of myself, it has always been there and i've been aware of it on some level or another. I'm interested in talk to others who are dragons as well as anyone else who is willing.

I look forward to whatever may happen,
Stig

Re: Hey-o
Hey! Glad you made it. Since you already answered my token question of "how did you come to the conclusion that you're dragon-kin" in IM, you get to be one of the lucky few I don't ask. Though if you want to answer it anyway, I'm sure others would like to know

Re: Hey-o
*pokes Sera* You should get a name like "The Northern Star", since everyone's always following you over here.

Welcome to the site, Stig. Sweet name, by the way.

Welcome. I'll ask it then - how did you come to the conclusion you were dragon-kin?

I like the play on words in your 'kin' profile field, very clever.

Re: Hey-o
First off, thank you for the warm welcome. I think its great that you noticed my play on words Momo. In a way, words are my trade and playthings even if i can't get any of my stories finished and published. Ah well.

Thanks for the compliment Deros. My name is actually of norse origin and it means "wanderer". I chose it as a craft name in honor of my patron god Odin.

But the real question is...How did I come to know i was drac'kin?

For this I will actually have to talk you all back to before i even knew about dragons when i was in the first grade. I was fascinated by dinosaurs and could put to shame adults with my knowledge about them. And so, all that year in first grade, a time when i was still more extroverted than introverted, i would tell stories to my friends about how i was really a dinosaur and i was born in an egg. And maybe, just maybe, i could turn back into one. Talking like i was a dinosaur was completely natural for me. And then at some point I discovered dragons.

I don't know when this was or how it happened but as soon as i discovered them dinosaurs went out the window before someone could even open it. All the knowledge i had about dinosaurs...forgotten. However this was quickly replaced by knowledge of dragons and mythology. As much as it as i could get my hands on. As the years went on my draconic traits came out more. However, this included my temper and after one fight when i bit the other guy on the hand my parent put in martial arts for anger management. It worked to. Too well in fact. Since i have little connection with water, control amounted to burying my dragon under a large mound of dirt.

This was not intentional though. At this point i had no idea about this part of my and i just didn't know how to incorporate this side of myself correctly. However subdued a dragon is never gone or down. From then on there were just smaller reflections. I could at times feel my wings, tail and/or horns. I tend to growl more than anything else. This includes happy growls...which strangely is kind like a rough purr. And i bite. Not trying to hurt bite. The affectionate ruff play biting. I also gathered statues, books, games, movies...anything with dragons around me. Dragons became the gift i got when no one knew what to get me. ^_^ So now i own lots of them.

I started referring to myself as a dragon in a somewhat causal way. Not really knowing how right i was. Until that is, and if anything can be seen as a awakening this can be, a particular event with my now ex-girlfriend. This happened about a year ago or less. We were in the grotto at her school fooling around. Mostly just biting and kissing. Then my dragon side took over. My posture changed, my voice changed, my eyes turned partially gold. I was still myself, i knew this wasn't another being like a dragon totem spirit(though he hangs close often enough). This was me but this was me different. I scared my ex just about witless. Not to the point that she felt endangered but the girl was far from expecting it. It only lasted a few moments but that really made me want to find out. I got the name for it when Lupa's book "A Fieldguide to Otherkin" came out.

That basically sums it up. Albeit far longer than was expected but there it is. I hope you enjoy it.

Re: Hey-o
Hey there! And welcome!

I'm a dragon therian myself (and part of a multiple system). (I had planned on typing earlier, but my friend was looking over my shoulder and I don't want him to know about this.)

I happen to be connected to water (can't meditate without being in it).

I bet she was freaked--I'd probably freak, too, lol.

I didn't mean to gloss over that. But also I'm not really sure what you meant either. Technically, i guess i could say yes. Anything that furthers my ability to understand myself more is welcome. But...what do you mean?
