Hello there!
Hello there. I recently learned of these forums. Or, rather, I should say we recently learned of these forums. I'm speaking on behalf of a multiple system known as the Loreyu. A goodly number of us are otherkin, mostly therians in type, although we do have a few with vampiric tendencies or angelic roots. I suppose a few could even be classified as aliens. Mostly I just think of them as friends and family. We're a large group, but we get along well. We do not consider ourselves disordered, nor do we lose time. Our body is 35, partly disabled due to physical ailments, and a writer by trade. We're also poly, pagan, and parents. What a combination, mmm?

Anyway, very pleased to me you. I'm sure we'll enjoy our stay.

Re: Hello there!
yo and welcome.

A multiple and a parent. I'd be interested in hearing about how you balance those two and what challenges you feel you face as a result of them.

Could you please share who's who in your system? And maybe even what 'kin types they identify as?

Hope you like it here! And welcome!

Before we had co-consciousness, things were difficult. We knew we were multiple before we became pregnant, but we also thought the system was very small. We also didn't have a good idea of how deeply trauma had shaped it. Once our son hit certain age markers, a lot of our memories came back--and a lot of "new" people made themselves known for the first time. We struggled with consistency and constantly felt bad about it, even when we all vowed to be Mom. When he was old enough to begin asking questions, we explained things to him as best we could, though didn't fill in all details. He knows he has a lot of different Moms now, and some of them by name. He doesn't generally differentiate unless he's giving someone specific presents, though.

Elinox asked:

For some of us, the tendency to split was like a habit; it continued even after the original trauma was dealt with. Because of that, our system is extremely large, with 80+ members. Most live internally, rarely if ever fronting. A goodly portion of those are not otherkin. Those that are other, and who you most likely to see are:

Ben - older male, cynical, a tiger therianthrope, but doesn't shift much
Emma - teenage female, ambitious and driven, a lycanthrope
Erik - older male, Emma's father, serious, also a lycanthrope
Ghost - older male, serious, a shifter still looking for his totemic form
Imri / Sarisel - older male, studious, a human sometimes possessed by an angel
Kami - teenage male, funny, a complete mystery, but very interested in this site
Keyadis - teenage male, a little awkward, a polar bear therianthrope
Kira - child female, won't be let run around unaccompanied, shifter looking for her totemic form
Koi - teenage male, Kira's older brother, quirky, suspects totemic form but scared to shift
Meretris - adult male, interested in the occult, a greyhound therianthrope and gender-slider
Straif - adult male, Meretris' twin, also interested in the occult, a cheetah therianthrope and gender-slider
Obi - older male, system-head, shifter with multiple forms and gender-slider

Just to note: Ben, Ghost, Imri, Meretris, Straif, and Obi come from the same family line. Obi is also Kira and Koi's father. Also, we promise to introduce anyone before they post if they're not on this list.

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcomes!

"Imri / Sarisel - older male, studious, a human sometimes possessed by an angel"

How does this work exactly?
The way that possession was explained to me it involves an outside entity entering the body and taking the control over the body away from it's inhabitant(s).
Not that an inhabitant of a body becomes (forcibly) inhabited by another entity.

Perhaps possession isn't the right word, but it is rather difficult to explain.

We have an elaborate inner space. The vast majority of us have our own bodies there, but Sarisel is non-corporeal. He is considered the progenitor of one of our family lines, and used to "body hop" internally depending on what he wanted to do. When Imri came along, he found a permanent internal host. He now only manifests through Imri occasionally, but it is a mutual agreement.

Sarisel doesn't come to the front very often. Imri is generally the one who pokes his head out on earth.

loreyu Wrote:We have an elaborate inner space. The vast majority of us have our own bodies there, but Sarisel is non-corporeal.

If you're referring to mindspace then the bodies you have there are non-corporeal as well.
They are images used for representation of the individual in question.
The mindspace is not a physical place.

I find it highly unlikely that you literally have corporeal bodies (a physical material body, not immaterial or intangible) inside your shared mindspace.
_

Couple other questions I didn't get around to asking due to my own fickle distractability;

loreyu Wrote:When he was old enough to begin asking questions, we explained things to him as best we could...
What age would that be?

loreyu Wrote:it continued even after the original trauma was dealt with
trauma?

And your system members have different ages.
This makes me a little confused as it's only the physical body, in general, that ages. Souls/spirits/whatever you want to call 'em, are essentially just energy. Why would the energy be of a certain level of physical maturity?

And on the subject of splitting.
Since there's such a high number of you, have you consider re-merging some of the split parts?
