Re: Hello im new here
Well I've had this odd instinctual occurence happen to me since I was about 16, Long b4 I dwelved into the occult. Typically it is set off by a very strong energy shift or more typically a very intense sexual encounter. Well the other day it was set off by something new. A male that I work with that also practices the occult. He came to work and his energy was off and it triggered this instinctual reaction (I know im goin of on bunny trails but ill tie it together. Also the instinct thing works the same way when it happens). I for some reason had a super intense urge to growl at him, in a sense I was defenseive and wanted to attack/bite him(not in a nice way) and it felt like my teeth no longer fit in my mouth properly. Almost like my teeth were much too large. My body got very warm and I felt physically very empowered. It was so intense that I almost lost control. I eventually ended up biting my lip and for some reason the taste of blood nullified this reaction and put me back in full control. I know that this feeling isn't normal ever since the first time it happened. Recently was the first time I've ever talked about it to anyone and I was pointed in the direction of Otherkin. So I guess what im asking is r these traits of being otherkin? This last time I had the reaction scared me. I've never came close to losing control b4 so I need to find a way to deal with this. Any information u guys offer would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hello im new here
First the modly stuff: Please refrain from using text speak aka letters in place of words or a letter-number combination instead of words. You only throw them in here and there, but do your best to not.

Anyhow, it's possible that it's 'kin related, but it's also possible that it's not. Really, and frustratingly, no one will be able to tell you if you're kin or what type...it's a personal journey and thus something only you will be able to figure out. That being said, we can certainly throw in our $.02.

Re: Hello im new here
Ok ill make sure to try to keep my text speak to a minimum. And well any and all 2 cents will be helpful. I plan on doing some meditative work to attempt to figure it out. Im sure it wont be a easy thing but as I said before I need to know how to control it and to do that I need to know what im dealing with.

Re: Hello im new here
Well, figuring out what it is is the first step. If you are actually blacking out or on the verge of it and/or losing control of yourself, I'd get checked out by a doctor as it could be neurological and not 'kin related. That being said, it *sounds like* it could be animal related...which could be a totem trying to mess with you and get your attention or could be that you are in some way whatever animal...which would make you a therian. It could also be a mythical beastie in either of the aforementioned ways. The core belief that makes someone otherkin is that they feel like they aren't human in some non physical way.

One thing I always recommend to people trying to figure stuff out is to keep a journal of what they experience every day in terms of mental shifts, phantom sensations, dreams, anything that you think is relevant. Do that for a few weeks/months and see what sense you can make of it and/or post it and we'll weigh in on the situation.

Re: Hello im new here
Well i didn't black out. On the contrary I was acutely sensitive to everything. Hearing, smell, sight, touch, energy. Everything felt much stronger. And that's definitely a idea. I will do that. As for totems as far as I know I have a falcon. I believe that's a guide animal for me. But I do like the journal idea. What would be the best sub article to post my findings in?

Re: Hello im new here
Unless there's a specific kintype, or category, you find I'd post it either in Otherkin-General or Experiences and Dreams.
