Hello from Another Angelkin
Hello, I go by the screen name Riversend since I physically live near a river and the name just seemed to fit. I just started my awakening over the past winter and have come a long way in understanding many things thanks to several memories coming to the surface and a few dreams over the years. I first realized that I might be angelkin when I ‘felt’ a large expanse of wings emerging from my back one day in Dec 2011. This wasn’t the first clue since I felt the wings emerge briefly several years ago when I was in my early 30s but they disappeared and I never perceived them again anytime between then and last winter. My Spirit guidance has also provided me with my angels name although I feel shy about sharing it since it’s all a bit shocking to me, and I’m actually having a hard time believing the whole thing.

Some of you might know me from OKA since I joined that forum soon after discovering the wings and doing a little Google research, and for some reason, many of my memories flooded back at that point after a terrible bout of dizziness and headaches. I believe that this might have been one of the bindings giving way. I’m still working on sorting out the memories and seeing how they agree with other angelkin’s UPG’s and this is one of the reasons why I decided to join the forum. In fact the whole Otherkin community is pretty fascinating since I’ve never heard of such a thing before and look forward to learning more about other celestials, Demon’s, Dragon’s, Therian’s, Elementals and Fairies. The Fae especially hold a certain fascination since I’m supposed to have an association with them, well according to the literature anyway.

I have a degree in art and have been working in the horticulture field for several years since I love gardens and nature so well which seem to reflect my duties as an celestial judging by my memories of home (Heaven and the City, which some refer to as the Silver City). My hobbies include landscape painting and gardening.

First of all, welcome to OKP.

What did the event feel like, might I ask? How are these wings perceived? Do you attribute to them a color, a shape, a texture? Might you be able to visualize them?

What exactly is the supposed connection between yourself and Fae, as told by literature? What culture does such literature correspond to, if any?

Are you more fond of naturally occurring environments (wilderness) or man-made, controlled ones (gardens and the like)? Do you enjoy more being surrounded by greenery, or the act of bringing such greenery to fruition? When gardening, are you more partial to fruits/vegetables (tomatoes, for example) or the more aesthetic flowery (such as roses)? Any greenery you find particularly pleasing? Perhaps a few selections that have proven notably rebellious in your care?

Re: Hello from Another Angelkin
Thanks for the welcoming words, I appreciate that. Hello again Sera.

Hi Rain, the wings sort of almost felt physical and I imagined myself folding them slightly to get through doorways. They manifested over several weeks before I fully acknowledged them. I'm a highly skeptical person by nature and had a hard time even accepting that they were there. I perceived them in my minds eye as being pale creamy white and six in number apparently making me a seraphim. Several years ago I saw myself as a dark coloured serpent or dragon while meditating and it startled me so badly that I didn't dare look within again. I've noticed since then that they can also be a amber gold color with the upper and largest wings being the darkest. I've also had a couple memories of seeing myself with a dark coloration as well. So there seems to be three different color morphs.

A description of my wings taken from my journal:

I don’t really get a clear view of my wings, but the impression makes me think that they’re six in number. The largest set is quite large and probably stretch over 20ft when fully extended while in human form. When folded they’re just above my head and bend downward at the joint and fold tightly against the other four wings and press everything to my body. I can also fold them backwards like a parrot does when they stretched their wings over their back and I seem to be able to hold them in this position for a short time before relaxing them into normal position. The next pair sits just below and slightly inside of the large wings joint and wrap protectively against my body and they can be extend to cover my face, they are also the smallest at around four feet when only slightly folded, for some reason I never fully extend them. The third set are fairly long and fan like, or skirt like. They seem to have long, soft feathers that sweep around the ground or against other things almost like they are used for sensing things like the earth changes such as seismic activity.

The color is mainly white with an energetic and shimmery quality to the feathers. The largest ones seem to emit a kind of golden or amber light that might be a halo type manifestation and this is the actual color when they aren’t the white. I also have a feathery, darker deep indigo or dusty violet morph as well, but they don’t show very often and I’ve only seen them in a couple visions. I’m not sure what they’re for but they might be for going around in the darker regions and they might be for battle, not that I’m a fighter or anything though. Maybe they’re to look imposing…not sure. I suppose they’re linked to the dragon type form which is dark in color as well.

Not sure about which culture that the fae thing comes from but Ariel is said to be the liaison between heaven and fairy. It's probably European in origin's or of the JC paradigm but I haven't really come up with too much information concerning the topic. Honestly, I really can't find much on the topic outside of the usual new age fluff and wonder if it's all just a bunch of nonsense. However, I've seen movement out of the corners of my eyes while outdoors and have seen what I believe were water spirits on the river...other times I've felt presences near me when I've been working outdoors, especially at the garden center/nursery I once worked at.

As a gardener I'm more into the ornamental perennials, trees and shrubs especially the more uncommon stuff. I also love wetland and native species and anything that brings the native animals, birds and insects into the garden. I think the changing weather patterns that we've been experiencing in recent years has contributed to problems with getting things to survive. For example, we are having a terribly dry year and many of the perennials have given up since I can't afford that much water for them, and there are water restrictions in place. I also like the wilder areas, in fact there is a small patch of old growth forest not far from my home were I used to take my dog for a walk fairly frequently before I started suffering health problems and couldn't take her for those long hikes anymore. Unfortunately this is mostly farm land around here and there aren't many natural area's left. Funny that you mention roses, I used to have several different varieties including many English roses but they have suffered with the erratic weather in recent years and most have long since gone.

Welcome to OKP! And yes, I recognize you. Although I always read your name as "river send" rather than "river's end".

And my sister-in-law has her B.S. and her master's in horticulture. You don't happen to live in New Orleans do you?

Re: Hello from Another Angelkin
Hi Elinox, either way is fine with me.

No I actually live in Canada. Wish I had my BS in horticulture, but I didn't think my science was strong enough in high school to go that route, turns out that I was probably wrong, so I just have BFA in studio painting and drawing. I'm thinking of going back to school for web design or graphic design.
