Hello Harker!
I can relate to not having a strong feeling of "kintype" -- though for me that's more on the level of questioning whether any human's "spirit" or "soul" is actually human by default. It seems to me that the spiritual explanation of this is something that...kind of assumes that as a ground or basis, when I don't really think it's necessarily true. Or that could just be me not having a set energetic form and generalizing that experience out to the whole of humanity. <!-- s

--> Of course, though, then that would necessitate some kind of alternate explanation for acupuncture and acupressure and qigong and etc...
In any case -- welcome to the board. I just decided to drop by today because I keep seeing a lot of new people come in, but then it's kinda dead and they go away and it's sad. ^_^;; I did recently do an art portfolio based on some of the thoughts I've recorded here over the years, though; if nothing else, this space is really good for getting rid of some shackles.
I also in the past have identified as demonkin, though my respect for demons (and the question of whether they literally exist or not, and if so would they protest to my calling myself one of them) has kept me from calling myself demonic, for years. One could say that I identify *with* demons, psychologically, but not that I *am* one. Of course, that doesn't mean I have never channeled any unknowingly...that gets into another set of issues, though.
But I think there's a lot of really interesting stuff to be had within a demonic identity -- at least insofar as one can define "demon" for themselves and not just identify with what one of my old contacts (who ran a number of listservs on Satanism [in a positive sense] about a decade ago) would refer to as a "devil". <!-- s

--><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s

--> (A "devil" would basically be a personification of "evil," which was distinct from what we on the board referred to as Satan or demons.) I've thought about the religious usage of devils and demons and probably that more than anything else makes me think that most people, when they talk about these, either don't know what they're talking about -- or they skew what they're talking about so that the devil or demon works *in their favor*. After I got to the point of realizing, for instance, that people who lump in homosexual people with Satan are using Satan as a tool to scare people into their ranks, and after I found that many Satanists were ex-Christians trying to heal from Christianity, I kind of realized that what I was looking for wasn't in that space.
But maybe I should go start a thread <!-- s

In any case, hi. <!-- s
